ENGINE
The problem that I have is the same as the one I years ago. There was a recall on 2007 Toyota Camrys for oil consumption. At the time I waws never getting the maintenance indicator because the engine would run low on oil before I needed an oil change. I am having the same problem again. The car is not leaking oil. It's consuming oil. I now must drive around with extra oil in the trunk in case the oil is low. I have been a Toyota owner since 1986. I have always thought of Toyota as being one of the most reliable cars on the road. I have taken the car to the dealer near me (Toyota South Morrow, GA). Of course they do not want to further investigate this problem further. But I am sure is the problem. My mechanic also agrees that this is likely the problem.? What component failed? Engine / Oil How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car could stop at any time with engine failure, blown gaskets, etc. The problem is easily reproduce every oil change. Toyota Dealership has reviewed the problem. Now the consumption is so bad I have to check the oil every 2 weeks. The low oil indicator does not come on. Is there another recall possible if this first recall doesn't fix the problem permanently.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured and was previously replaced under Toyota Campaign Number: ZE6. The contact stated that the new dashboard was sticky and melting, causing a reflection on the windshield, which reduced the driver's ability to see the roadway. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

From the accident my front of the car got damaged heavily, even though the airbags didn't deployed. Hi, In my car VSC light is always on, I got it scan as well but it doesn't show any code for VSC and ABS systems. Toyota dealership also don't give any information about the codes. It's kind of very dangerous to drive with all the lights on the cluster. Thank You

Vehicles dash board is melting. Produces a high shine effect that reflects sunlight into the front glass, effectively blinding the driver. Toyota has acknowledged this in a “warranty enhancement program” but will no longer repair the dashboard as the recall has “expired”. The warranty program had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle. Engine burns oil due to piston assembly manufacturing errors. Toyota has acknowledged this in T-SB-0158-14 but will no longer repair the engine as the recall has “expired”. The recall had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle.

1)BODY- The body of the vehicle (paint) seems to be chipping and/or rusting at an increasingly rapid rate with no known causes. This rusting is causing the value of the car to plummet as I am trying to sell the vehicle. It first appeared in about 2019 and has been getting steadily worse without any way to stop it. 2) SUSPENSION- On every single Toyota I’ve owned (4) the struts wore very quickly and are NOT a cheap fix. I had to at one point, fix them more than once in the same vehicle. I was told by the repair tech that it is a common issue seen in Toyotas. If a strut goes while driving it can cause major safety issues for the driver. 3)WHEELS- The hubcaps more specifically speaking, on every Toyota I’ve owned, have also had an issue maintaining its hubcaps. One rolled off on the highway and nearly caused me to crash as it hit the side of my car and slid under the rear tires and made me slide all over the snowy highway. Luckily there weren’t many vehicles on the road or it could’ve been catastrophic. I also notice that the light for the tire pressure never turns off either. I can fill the tires, empty the tires, it does not matter, the light will never go off.

Whenever I start my car I can see a red triangle symbol I think it’s SRS warning light. Then I check my owner’s manual then I find out that it’s SRS warning lights. I don’t know what to do. Please let me know what should I do?

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Instrument panel (dashboard) is sticky. Safety issue is sticky dashboard is throwing a glare up on windshield, making it harder to see thru windshield clearly. This happens at any time of daylight. This is a recognized Toyota manufacturing defect. Issue has been confirmed by local Toyota dealer and also Toyota customer service. No other inspection has been done. Problem began about 2018.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The instrument panel goes black while driving in daylight. Seems to be a non issue at night. You can not tell what speed you are traveling, if the car is running hot or how much gas is in the tank. Appears to be a major problem by searching for solutions. Many solutions have already been tried but seems to not fix the issue. Could be dangerous not knowing how fast / slow you are traveling. If you search this issue on [XXX] , you will see many owners have this same issue. I just purchased this car so do not know how long it has been an issue. Previous owner did not disclose this issue to me. I reached out to him but he has not contacted me back. I did buy it as is so there's that. I was driving my car when suddenly the speedometer started going from 0-60 back and forth, the rpms was all over the place, the brake light came on and stayed on and the lights was going from bright to dim, there was a couple more lights aluminized on my dash. After googling the problem that nearly caused me and my children to crash, there is so many people affected by this same problem in the 2007 toyota camry. Why hasn't this been recalled or class auctioned. Also my dash board is sticky like tar.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the driver's side sun visor had separated and detached. The contact stated that a new sun visor was purchased online however, the contact was unable to install the part due to a significant amount of dried glue. The contact attempted to scrape off the glue but was unable to remove the glue. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, who made the same assessment and informed the contact that the new sun visor could not be installed. The contact stated that the vision of the roadway and the traffic lights were significantly reduced or impaired while driving on a sunny day due to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

SERVICE BRAKES
The ABS brake actuator, part 44510-30270, initially failed in January of 2021 while traveling on the highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The VSC (vehicle stability control system) message appeared accompanied by multiple warning lights, followed by severely limited braking ability which endangered my family during high speed traffic on the 5 freeway. I purchased a used actuator on eBay immediately, it lasted not quite 2 years (it's 2023), it has now failed. I recently purchased a new used actuator pump again, and it has failed immediately. There is obviously a design flaw with this part, yet YOU (NHTSA) and Toyota refuse to address it properly. There is no reason why this device has not been recalled other than negligence. You need to reopen this case, and force Toyota to recall this part before someone is injured or worse!

The defect had caused a glare and obstructed the view of the driver while driving. Additionally, the surface of the dashboard was sticky to the touch. The contact called the dealer and was informed of an Extended Warranty program related to the failure. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 147,000.
