SummaryRusty Panel at Bottom (Inner Side) of Doors: Some customers may complain about rust at the bottom (inner side) of the doors where the seaming welt is located. It is caused by mud/sand adhering to the side sill, which scratches the paint surface when the door is opened/closed. The mud/sand is most likely brought in by the driver and/or passenger when stepping in and out of the vehicle.

SummaryDoor Lock Will Not Work Using Remote Transmitter and Engine Will Not Start: Some customers may experience all of following symptoms: 1. The door lock/unlock operation will not work using the remote transmitter button. 2. The door lock/unlock operation will not work using the door lock/release touch sensor. 3. The engine will not start using the ignition switch. 4. The transmitter operates by itself. 5. The key battery drains faster than usual. Symptoms 1-3: This may be caused when excess load is applied to the remote transmitter, deforming the electrical terminals and creating poor contact with the battery. To eliminate this concern, the structure in the remote transmitter has been modified to reduce the deformation of the electrical terminals. Symptom 4-5: This may be caused when excessive load is applied to the remote transmitter, creating a gap around the gasket where moisture enters and corrodes the circuit board which in turn drains the key battery faster than usual. To eliminate this concern, the thickness of the case wall on the gasket mounting surface has been increased and the bonding strength of the components has been improved to prevent deformation. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

SummarySome vehicles may have a âÂÂLOW ENGINE OIL LEVELâ warning message and a CHECK ENGINE light illuminated in the instrument cluster, along with DTC P250F:00 stored in memory. DTC P250F:00 - Engine oil level signal: engine oil level low. Upon inspecting the engine oil level, the level is found to be low and there doesnâÂÂt appear to be any trace of oil leakage in the engine compartment. This concern usually occurs when the mileage reaches approximately 3,100 â 4,700 miles (5,000 - 7,500km) and may also occur again after replacing or topping off the engine oil. The root cause of this concern has not been identified yet, therefore a repair procedure will be announced at a later date. Since this issue has been reported after a valve stem seal modification, it is very likely that valve stem seal damage is causing oil to leak into the combustion chamber.

SummaryWhen the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) replacement is necessary due to a failure, use MDARS to activate the new TCU after replacement. Use the information in this service alert to initialize the new TCU until the procedure on MGSS is updated. CAUTION: DO NOT swap TCU with another vehicle as the TCU is VIN locked after activation. A TCU swap with another vehicle will disable Connected Services on both vehicles. If TCU activation is not performed, connected vehicle functions will not operate. This will have a negative impact on the customer because they will need to return to the dealer for repairs.

SummaryAll Mazda Connect vehicles in new car inventory must be updated to the software version listed below in this TSB as part of the New Car Ready Step 3 process. Make sure the new vehicle specialist receives a copy of this bulletin. Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 74.00.230 or later). Please explain this to the customer before updating the software. If the customer agrees, turn off the tachometer display on the AD-Display tab in MAZDA CONNECT Settings before performing the update. NOTE: If the customer has customized MAZDA CONNECT with something like a different background using unauthorized software, make sure they know the following information before updating MAZDA CONNECT to avoid any issues later on. Updating MAZDA CONNECT to the latest version will erase any customization created by unauthorized software. Unauthorized customization software will not work on the latest version of MAZDA CONNECT software. The latest version of MAZDA CONNECT software cannot be rolled back to an earlier version. SummarySome vehicles may exhibit: Vehicle body vibration when moving from a stop while using the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) automatic release function. Uneven rear brake pad wear. These concerns may be caused because the automatic EPB caliper release timing is too late for the movement of the vehicle. NOTE: Frequent usage of the EPB automatic release function may promote uneven rear brake pad wear. To eliminate these concerns, the EPB control module logic has been modified.
