SummarySome 2010 – 2026 model year Lexus vehicles may exhibit paint stains after the removal of Rapgard™. The paint stains may appear to be under the clear coat but are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard™. SummaryAfter jump-starting, the vehicle may experience a no-start condition and multiple DTCs including U010087 - Lost Communication with ECM/PCM "A" Missing Message. Upon investigation, it is found that the engine ECU has been damage and needs to be replaced. In several cases, the cause of the ECU damage was improper jump starting. Further investigation found that ECU damage may occur if the negative (ground) cable clamps are attached on or around the engine ECU or mounting bracket. To prevent this condition from occurring, it is recommended that the jumper cables be attached as described in the owner’s manual.
