SummaryTSB: SUPERSESSION NOTICE The information contained in this bulletin supersedes Service Bulletin No. L-SB-0021-14. * Applicability has been updated to include applicable 2018 models and 2016 * 2018 model year RC 300 and 2015 * 2018 model year RC 350 vehicles. * Applicability has been updated to exclude 2001 - 2003 model year ES 300 vehicles. Service Bulletin No. L-SB-0021-14 is obsolete and any printed versions should be discarded. Be sure to review the entire content of this bulletin before proceeding. Flash reprogramming allows the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software to be updated without replacing the ECU. Flash calibration updates for specific vehicle models/ECUs are released as field-fix procedures described in individual Service Bulletins. This bulletin details the Techstream ECU flash reprogramming process and outlines the use of TIS and the Calibration Update Wizard (CUW). Flash calibration updates can only be applied to the vehicle/ECU combination for which they are intended. ECUs have internal security that will not allow them to be programmed with another ECU?s information. NOTE ECU is a Lexus term used to describe integrated computerized devices responsible for managing the operation of a system or subsystem. For the purposes of this bulletin, the term ECU is used as a generic label for the following SAE J1930 standard references: * Powertrain Control Module (PCM) * Engine Control Module (ECM) * Transmission Control Module (TCM) * Any other Lexus-specific control unit

SummaryTSB: The purpose of this bulletin is to notify technicians of the best practices to help reduce brake vibration conditions for our customers. The condition can occur at any time if improper torque is applied to lug nuts. Over time, even one lug nut over- or under-torqued can cause a vibration condition. When lug nuts are over-torqued, this causes the rotor to have a runout condition, which can lead to brake vibration conditions.

SummaryTT: During previous air conditioning service, leakage prevention agent (A/C stop leak) may have been added to the A/C system. Adding stop leak products to the A/C system is not a recommended or approved Lexus repair process. During A/C service, moisture enters the A/C system, and can react with the previously added A/C stop leak, forming a gelatinous substance. The gel substance that forms can cause the A/C compressor to bind and or seize.

SummaryTSB: Some 2017 model year Lexus vehicles equipped with Lexus Display Audio (non-embedded navigation system) have the capability of utilizing a cell phone data-driven navigation app called Scout® GPS link. A download and installation process is required to activate the Scout® GPS Link app before it can be used for the first time on new vehicles. The download and installation process may also need to be performed under other circumstances such as following a head unit replacement or after the customer's personal settings are erased. The download and installation process requires between 9 and 15 minutes to complete, depending on the file size, cellular connection speed, and other factors. Following the download and installation process, Scout® GPS Link app updates may also occur via an over-the-air update system. Follow the procedure below to perform the download and installation process.

SummaryTechnical Instructions: The Brake Hold system maintains brake application when the shift lever is in a forward gear position or in ?N? (Neutral) and the brake pedal has been depressed to stop the vehicle. The system releases the brake when the accelerator pedal is depressed with the shift lever in ?D? (Drive) or a Manual mode. Under certain conditions, (for example, when unfastening the driver?s seat belt while the system is enabled), the brake hold function is designed to deactivate, sound a warning buzzer, display a message in the instrument cluster, and automatically set the electronic parking brake. On the involved vehicles, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) for the system may not set the parking brake as expected and as described in the Owner?s Manual. If the parking brake does not set as designed, there is a possibility the vehicle could creep forward or backward.
