The steering wheel will automatically jerk to the left and right while driving, particularly in cold weather. I had at first thought this was the lane assist, however I turned it off and the it was still happening.While driving on the highway it’s as if the steering wheel is making small motions left and right on its own as I am trying to keep a straight path on the road. It has not put me at any direct safety risks but it is definitely a nuisance and makes the driving experience very annoying. I have not yet taken it to a dealership to be duplicated or inspected, however I have read that there have been multiple reports made to NHTSA about this same issue. There were no warning lamps or messages associated with this issue.

On November 27th at 7:30 am I used the remote start feature on my car for the first time and when I walked out to my car and went to open my door, my entire back windshield exploded. For reference I had not use the rear defroster before so when I used the auto start feature on my car this was the very first time the rear defroster had been used.

The car was parked in the garage and the back windshield exploded for no reason. The garage is insulated and was around 60 degrees. No impact had occurred and no prior damage. The car is only a year old. There are other reports of similar incidents with the back window. No warning just exploded out of no where. I am having to replace it out of pocket.

Was driving off from drive thru window and o hear a loud bang, pop and shatter. I look into rear view mirror to find my rear mirror busted! It was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. I called dealership and they didn’t even want anything to do with me. I got it fixed on my own.

rear window windshield or glass (at the trunk or above the license plate) of my 2023 Honda HRV EX-L shattered and exploded while parked. There was no impact or an object hitting it. It just exploded. I strongly believe it’s a manufacturing defect which needs a recall or warranty coverage.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH with the rear defroster activated, there was a loud booming sound heard and the rear hatchback windshield shattered, causing glass shards to fall into the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 10,600.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 30 MPH, the rear windshield exploded without warning or impact. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer by his wife, and the mechanic placed a covering and seal on the windshield. The vehicle was taken to a glass replacement facility and the windshield was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

" I purchased a brand new 2023 Honda HRV from your facility and I'm already having problems with it. My issue is that anytime I use the rear defroster, after it cools, it causes the Paneling and Side view mirrors to brutally crack and warp. Online I saw others have the same exact issue. It starts with metal warping, every time, and ends in the back window being blown out. I don't understand why there's not a recall for this apparent issue. I went on the internet and saw that many others had the exact same issue, but no recall was set into play. This has been an ongoing issue for Honda since 2019 in their HRV line; or at least, this is where the complaints began. I recently got a recall in the mail, stating something about a seatbelt, but not for the more important Defroster issue. What can or should I do about this?" This was an email I sent to a Honda Customer service agent at the dealership I bought it from, after also contacting Customer Service by phone. To date, there have been ZERO attempts to resolve my concerns. I have not received any phone calls or emails back to even let me know they cared. Currently, I refuse to use my rear defroster on this model EVER, for fear that my rear window will explode while driving.

While driving to work in the light rain, I heard a loud bang and looked in the rearview mirror to find a softball sized hole in the back glass. Pieces kept falling out until, by the time I got to the dealer, the entire panel was shattered on the floor of the rear cargo area. There was no foreign object in the vehicle.

The rear window of my HRV shattered for no reason in a snow storm. I was unable to get it to my dealer to fix the issue as I am a [XXX] and it was the middle of a snow storm in Utah. I had to get it fixed at the closest glass dealer to my location. The component was reviewed by the glass company as they were fixing it. This is a safety issue is when the glass shattered it rained down in the back seat where I have my nieces and nephews ride. It also put me at risk as it startled me and I was driving in the snow. In doing research, I found that there have been numerous incidents of these windows shattering. I attempted to get a goodwill repair for Honda as it is a "Known" problem, but they refused. The dealer had been contacted and it was confirmed that there was no recall for failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by the dealer. The vehicle was repaired by a glass replacement company and paid for by the insurance provider. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and it was confirmed that there was no recall for the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 16,909.
