SummaryValve Stem Replacement with Wheel Electronics. INFORMATION The valve stems are single-use only, and must be replaced every time the wheel electronics are replaced. If you loosen the nut (1), you must replace the valve stem. Failure to replace the valve stem will lead to a pressure leak. The proper repair procedure can be found in REP 3611533. Not applicable. Summary"This bulletin outlines the procedure for checking the engine timing chains for wear, and should be completed in conjunction with SI B11 06 14, ""N63 Customer Care Package."" The N63CCP and N63 Engine Check the Timing Chain are NOT mandatory Technical Campaigns or Recalls. They should be completed only based on parts availability, workshop capacity, and the customer's schedule. Performing the test plans identified in the procedure below will detect wear at an early stage and, if necessary, provide a repair solution. To avoid future valvetrain wear, the vehicle must be reprogrammed and a shorter oil service interval must be retrofitted via ISTA/P. Finally, drain and replace the engine's oil and filter. After completing all necessary repairs included in the N63 Customer Care Package and the Timing Chain Check, the vehicle must be test driven for up to 30 minutes to ensure that the repairs were performed to the highest standard."

SummarySurround View Camera Last User Mode Operation Change. After programming with ISTA/P 2.53.5 or a more recent version, the rear camera view is displayed when the reverse gear is selected. The vehicle does not remember the last user mode (surround/top camera view). INFORMATION An operational concept change for the surround/top camera view was introduced with ISTA/P 2.53.5 (I-level Fxx-14-07-505). When the reverse gear is selected, the default view will be the rear camera. The surround/top camera view has been removed from the last user mode function. This is to meet the upcoming (new) federal regulations regarding rear view cameras. Note: The surround/top camera view is available, but the driver must manually switch the camera view using the iDrive controller.

Summary"This bulletin outlines the Customer Care Package program that has been designed exclusively for BMW vehicles with the N63 engine. Vehicles with the N63 high performance engine are engineered with EfficientDynamics that provides fuel economy without compromising on its ""class leading"" power and performance. To ensure these engines keep delivering the ultimate performance, we have designed this Care Package that includes a 6 point check, and if necessary, the replacement of one or more of the following powertrain components: ? Hot-Film Air Mass Sensors ? PIEZO High Pressure Fuel Injectors ? Engine Vacuum Pump ? Fuel System Low Pressure Sensor/Feed Line ? Fresh Air Intake Turbo Seals ? Crankcase Ventilation Lines (Hoses) Note: Due to ongoing quality control monitoring, testing of the Bosch fuel system low-pressure sensor showed that replacement of the fuel system low-pressure sensor with Index 1 is no longer required in this customer care package. Refer to the attached procedure for the applicable replacement instructions regarding the fuel system low-pressure sensor. This engine care package also includes a multi-point inspection of the vehicle, including tire pressures, fluid levels, safety and convenience features. The N63CCP is NOT a mandatory Technical Campaign or Recall (per the authorities). It should only be completed based on parts availability, workshop capacity, and the customer's schedule. Complete all other applicable open Campaigns per the DCS Warranty inquiry and the Key Reader. Perform all recommended, due or qualifying ""time-based"" maintenance service task items as directed by the Key Reader/ISPA Light application. When eligible, also perform the procedure described in SI B61 30 14: 12-Volt Battery Replacement together with performing the N63 Customer Care Package. After completing all the necessary repairs, the vehicle needs to be road tested for 30 minutes to assure the highest standard of performed repairs (Please see ""Warranty Inf

The CBS oil service conversion performed for the N63 Customer Car Package and timing chain check (SI B11 16 14) did not work correctly with ISTA/P 3.54.x or 3.55.0. It did not change the interval to the desired 12 months/10,000 miles for the vehicles listed above in the specified production ranges. The ""Conversion, oil service 12 months/15,000 km/10,000 miles"" is working properly for all other N63 vehicles produced after these dates. Incorrect coding data in the affected ISTA/P versions"

AFFECTED VEHICLES This Service Action applies to E70, E71, E72, F01, F02, F04, F07, F10, F12, and F13 vehicles with the N63 engines corresponding to the production dates listed above. First check if a Service Action label with a code number 728 is already attached to the B-pillar. If a code number 728 has already been punched out, the Campaign has already been performed and no further action is necessary. Eligible vehicles will show the following Service Action-related Campaign Code: 00 13 48 02 00 If the vehicle already has a label from a previous Service Action/Recall Campaign, affix the new label next to the old one. Do not affix one label on top of another one, because a number from an underlying label could appear in the punched-out hole of the new label."

Summary"Airbag Warning Light: ACSM FC 930A60 or 930A1C Seat Occupancy Detection. According to the customer, the airbag warning light was on, but it may not be on when the vehicle arrives in the workshop. 1. ACSM fault code ""930A60 - Seat occupancy detection, front passenger; malfunction"" is stored. The fault may or may not currently be present. Or 2. ACSM fault code ""930A1C - Seat occupancy detection, front passenger; malfunction"" is stored. The fault may or may not currently be present. CAUSE The front passenger seat occupancy mat consists of a seat occupancy mat with a capacitive sensor system. This means a front passenger is detected by measuring the resistance of the human body. The fault is set when moisture is detected on the mat itself."

SummaryCheck Control Messages Related to Battery Charge During Cold Ambient Temperatures. On cold days with an outside ambient temperature of less than 15°F, customers may notice a check control message related to the battery that is displayed on the instrument cluster and the control information display. Under these conditions, the vehicle starts. Various power management faults can be stored. When the outside temperatures drop below 46°F, the charging system is switch to full charge. CAUSE ? The check control message (ID 229) is caused by a heavily discharged battery. ? The check control message is triggered when the current state of charge (SoC) of the battery approaches the minimum SoC that is required to start the vehicle (start capability limit). ? In low outside ambient temperatures, the start capability limit of the vehicle is higher. Therefore it takes more energy from the battery to start a cold engine. ? Without the early warning of the check control message, the current state of charge would drop below the start capability limit and the vehicle would not start. ? The vehicle's intelligent power management system actively takes measures to increase the charge of the battery, such as increasing idle speed and reducing or shutting down certain electrical consumers.

SummarySUBJECT Wheel Speed Sensor Faults Cannot Be Cleared. The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) warning light comes on while driving. The following DSC fault codes for the wheel speed sensors are stored: ? 480712 and/or ? 480715 and/or ? 480718 and/or ? 48071B They cannot be cleared, even though the wheel speed sensors work correctly and no problem can be found with the wiring harness. Due to high outside temperatures and extremely low atmospheric humidity, an electrostatic discharge (ESD) can occur in the wheel well area. This can transfer to the wheel speed sensor, causing irreparable damage to the DSC control unit.
