SummaryThis Service Information bulletin announces availability of a new control valve assembly (valve body) designed to prevent false detection of DTC P0841 and / or illumination of the AT Temp light. Testing has revealed in some limited cases, air bubbles (aerated fluid) may enter certain pressure circuits within the control valve assembly causing fluid pressure control and adjustment to be calculated incorrectly resulting in DTC P0841. The shape of these circuits has been changed to prevent this occurrence.

SummaryIn the Service Manual for the CROSSTREK hybrid model, the diagnostic procedures for P1C06 and P1C07, which are DTCs for checking the relay, have no steps for specifically checking the relay. Therefore, if trouble occurs in the 12 V battery relay, the Hybrid Power Control Module (HPCM) ends up being replaced even though nothing may be wrong with it.

SummaryThis Service Information bulletin announces instruction for application of additional lubrication between the brake caliper support and pad clips. This will prevent the pad from dragging due to corrosion buildup which may result in uneven or premature wear of the replacement brake pads. This additional instruction applies to all models with brake pads using the upper and lower pad clips and has been added to the brake pad installation procedures found in the related Service Manuals.

SummaryThis bulletin announces availability of reprogramming files to optimize the Battery Energy Control Unit (BECU) which is a component part of the HEV battery pack. The new files address the BECU logic used for detection of the HEV battery pack temperature. After the engine is shut off, the battery pack generates a certain amount of self-discharge heat by design. Existing BECU logic uses a threshold for the amount of this heat which is too low. As a result, the Hybrid Motor Assist Regeneration (HEV battery recharge) system and Auto Start Stop features stop operating. In addition to these reprogramming files to address this condition, a design change was made to the replacement battery pack in support of this software update.

In some cases, the Check Engine light may illuminate and a knock sensor-related DTC set in the ECM memory: P0327, P0328, P0332 and P0333. The knock sensor for DIT engines is now utilized for NA engines to improve durability and resistance to heat.

SummaryThis Service Information bulletin announces a design change to the clutch release bearing used on the models as listed above. During assembly of the bearing, a different type of grease is used which has a higher resistance to heat. In cases where the operator keeps a foot on the clutch pedal for extended periods, an increased amount of heat is generated which can cause the grease inside the bearing to deteriorate. In a case of prolonged clutch pedal application, seizure of the bearing can occur with potential damage to other related components.

SummaryThis bulletin provides a service procedure to address a gap between the top edge of the door and the instrument panel on the models listed as shown in the photo below. The gap may also make the glove box door difficult to close fully. There is a latch to keep the glove box closed on both sides of the glove box door. If the door is closed without using enough force to engage both latches or by pushing it shut on just one side instead of in the middle, one may close and not the other. Over time, if the door is not fully closed with both latches, high cabin temperatures along with weight of the items inside the glove box may cause the assembly to deform slightly and a gap to develop.
