Lincoln Aviators 2020-2024 using the Sync 3 Radio screen. Have a issue not switching to dimmed/night mode during night time driving. This is a major safety issue because when driving a night you have a super bright display inches from your eyes creating a blinding issue at night. This issue has been reported by many folks, a simple Google search will reveal this. Unless NHTSA steps if to doing something 10s of thousands Lincoln Aviators 2020-2024 are on the road with blinded drivers. Please see the attached email conversations and service records with Lincoln Motor Company (manufacturer) and Kayser Lincoln (service center and dealer) regarding the issues with the display in this vehicle. I have had this vehicle into the service center 50 times in the past 2 years trying to get this display issue fixed - they have not fixed it. I have asked for a vehicle buy back - Lincoln has denied this request. I have filed or a Lemon Law Complaint - Lincoln has denied this request. This is only the first 10 attachments of the 33 attachments I have in evidence - but I can only upload 10.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The 2nd row seats have an electrical switch to slide and slightly fold the seat for entry to the 3rd row. This switch seems to get stuck and will randomly slide and tilt the seat forward while driving as well as while stationary. while driving, the seat can hit the back of the driver seat very hard and cause disorientation. The vehicle has not yet been reproduced or inspected by a dealer or other service center. the vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance rep, or any other organization. There were no warnings or messages prior to failure, this car I purchased used and the symptom was presenter as soon as I drove off the lot.

When vehicle is put into park, you can hear the transmission slam into place as well as feel the car jolt. When vehicle is in park and moved to reverse, the car will delay and then throw into gear moving backwards causing a jolt and increased speed.

While driving down GA 140 near Waleska, GA, I hit a bump in the highway and the hood popped open. It stopped at first catch and I was able to stop before hood came all the way up. Was able to open hood completely and relatch successfully. No further incident's but it was very stressful to get the vehicle stopped and correct the problem before the hood opened beyond the first latch and would have come up and stopped my view of the highway which had a lot of traffic. This is only incident I have had with hood popping open by itself just by hitting a bump in the road.

- #11526116June 8, 2023LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The display on our 2022 Lincoln Aviator failed, again. It had been repaired by the dealer with a new rear camera. It failed to show the backup view, again, and also that display shows the controls for defrost and other safety features. It was a rainy day, so, we were without a display screen showing the backup camera AND could not turn on our defroster as it is located on that dark screen, also. Our windows fogged due to no defroster, and, we had no back up camera view to show traffic behind us. We called the dealer and, they said wait for a recall, as one on the software is in the making right now. There was no warning that this would happen. after driving the vehicle and parking and restarting it, the display lit up again.

When starting the car at night, the center display will run at full daytime brightness until the driver manually presses one of the up/down display/interior brightness control buttons. Once pressed, the system "realizes" that it's night time and adjusts accordingly. Having the display at full brightness at night is a safety hazard for drivers unaware that you can use the brightness control buttons as a workaround. My local dealership says this is "normal" behavior.

- #11482686September 2, 2022BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
I had several instances and two minor collisions now where the back up camera glitches as well as the warning alert. I’ve come close to hitting object only to stop just in time, however in these two collisions I was I situations where I needed to maneuver faster and needed accurate guidance. I dont recall the screen ever showing up until after the collisions and the louder long warning tone went off right at or just after impact. Both times have cause damage to my car. I’ve never had issues with minor self involved car accidents. My driving record is clean. Reading about the back up camera recalls for the 20 and 21 models sound like what is happening with my car but also with the alert system. There are glitches keeping this safety feature from meeting much needed driving assurance.

On 6/9/22 I ran off the road and down a ravine. I hit a large tree head on and hit some smaller trees on the right side of the vehicle. After the head on collision with the large tree, it broke the frame in two places. The car had severe damage on the front and right side as you will notice in the pictures I am sending. No airbags deployed during this collision. I was shocked that none of them deployed after such a hard impact with the front of the car and the right side. The local police and fire department that arrived on the scene were very concerned that the air bags didn’t deploy. The towing company and body shop owner was also very concerned that the airbags didn’t deploy after he examined the car after the accident. I just want everyone to be aware of this safety feature that failed me after I paid $70k for a car with five star safety ratings.
