PITSTOP: CHARGE PORT MANUAL RELEASE HANDLE CONCERNS - When attempting to use the manual/emergency release for the charge port on 2015MY Soul EV, it may appear as if the mechanism attached to the release handle has become detached from its mounting location. The plastic guide (see image below) is meant to free float on the cable and will protrude from the slot when pulled. The mechanism is operating as designed and no repairs or calls to Techline are required. Simply pull the handle until the charge port door opens and then re-insert the cable and handle back into the slot.

TSB: EV AND HYBRID A/C SYSTEM SERVICING REQUIREMENTS - The Soul Electric Vehicle (EV) and the Optima Hybrid use an A/C compressor that is driven by a high-voltage electric motor rather than by a belt. Both the motor and compressor are in one housing with a mix of refrigerant and oil flowing through both sections. Because the oil flows through the motor windings, it must have a high electrical resistivity (low conductivity).

PIT STOP: GDI INJECTOR SPRAY TIP DEPOSITS - A design feature of vehicles equipped with a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) system is the placement of each fuel injector directly into the engine cylinder head assembly. Therefore, it is completely normal for the combustion process to create deposits on the injector spray tip surfaces.
