- #11640896February 5, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Sometimes when the cruise control is turned on the car starts the cruise setting at 110mph and then starts accelerating the vehicle to that speed. It does not allow the mph setting to be turned down using the controls on the steering wheel, the only way to take it out of the stuck 110 mph setting is by turning cruise control off or braking. This situation happens rarely but does occur with only the cruise control being turned on, without any further prompt. I have a video of the occurance but the website does not allow me to upload a video.

For the past 2 years my Forward Safety System light on has been on in my car. It has turned off and back on repeatedly but has now been on for about 6 months. Hyundai dealerships are estimated a week or two of labor to fix which is extremely expensive for rental cars and outlandish that I bought this brand new and it is already giving me issues. No damage has been had to the car in any way.

My Rear view camara has stop working and there is no recall available for my Elantra by vin number. Is the same problem from the 24V879000 campaign. Please inform me if there is a recall for my car because it’s causing problems in visibility for reverse parking.

Intermittently while driving the vehicle will suddenly engage the traction control (TC)/electronic stability control (ESC). The light flashes for a short period (probably no more than a couple of seconds) and the car slightly jerks to the right. A loud noise is heard when this happens and the brake pedal shakes. Then the light will stop flashing and the car will begin operating normally again. Typically, the problem will reoccur shortly after it happens. I took the car to a dealer, and the dealer was unable to replicate the problem. The service manager stated that there were no codes and no history, and without a code the problem could not be diagnosed. This problem occurred multiple times over the last few months.

I had just drove back home from work and I was driving to pick up my child from his basketball game. I was able to pull out of my driveway and get through two stop signs before I came to a third and needed to make a left hand turn. I stopped and let the cars from the highway pass until it was my turn to go. I was proceeding through the sign and started to turn and in the middle of the turn my vehicle cuts off acceleration and stops moving in the middle of the street and turn. No lights. No warning. Just loses power. I pressed the gas and my rpm’s just reved extremely high. I couldn’t move out of the middle of the street. I pressed the gas again and the car started moving approximately 5-10 mph. Luckily the car driving by didn’t hit me as I was sitting in the middle of the road. I finally got to the side of the road and put the vehicle into park for a couple minutes and tried to take off again. I couldn’t go faster than 5mph at this time. I had to drive back home and by the time I got back I had lost reverse capabilities. Dealer said no recalls and mechanics said not much they can do because there isn’t a code or light on for them to check. I just have a new car that doesn’t drive or go into reverse. I’m going to the original dealer to see if they can help now. I believe this is possibly the transmission but I am not sure.

- #11632531December 26, 2024VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On June 13 2023, I received an alert on my dashboard that my cruise control was unable to be used due to an issue with the front sensor. The alert went away soon after but then reappeared on August 27th, 2023 the error appeared again. Specifically error code C162078. I wasn't able to get the issue repaired until November 2023, which is also where they replaced my faulty backup camera.

At the beginning of December 2022 (a year after I purchased my brand new vehicle), two of the ignition coils misfired. I was driving down the highway and suddenly my car lost power and then cut off. I was able to start it again, but it would not drive faster than 25mph and would randomly lose power again. On December 7th, 2022 I took it to Hyundai and they were able to replace the two coil packs under the warranty. However, they didn't change the spark plugs (unbeknownst to me), a few months later I decided to change my spark plugs (which had to be purchased directly from Hyundai for $120), all of my spark plugs were completely burnt and looked terrible. There was a caution signal on my dash board and after running an OBD code scanner, one of the error codes that were triggered were "P030400".

On six seperate occasions since I purchased new my traction control light flashed and the vehicle jerked and would lose power. It would then gain and lose power again. Four of these occurances happened in the last few months. It would not subside until I stopped the car. I took the car to the dealer three times and they said they could not duplicate the problem. They also said there were no codes in the car system history that showed any problems. I contacted Hyundai USA for advice. They said to bring it into the dealer and ask them to inspect the car again. That was visit number 3 and the results were the same. The person from Hundai said she would let her supervisor know of my concern for the vehicle safety but I never heard back.

- #11628710December 3, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
Rearview camera failure in my 2022 Hyundai Elantra. I need an urgent repair and need to have the rearview camera repair process speeded up because I need to drive at night. I need urgent repair of the rearview camera in my Hyundai Elantra because I do not want to injure pedestrians and do not want to get into collisions that are a direct result of rearview camera failure in my Hyundai Elantra

- #11628240December 2, 2024BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The back up camera has stopped working. If you read google, yelp, and other forums, a lot of back up cameras have stopped working as early as 24k miles. My vehicle is 2 years old and back up camera has died. I drive a lot of miles for work but cameras do not use mileage. The is a safety hazard as we had a 7 year old killed from a vehicle with no back up camera years ago. I do not agree with having to pay $1000.00 to have this item replaced. Hyundai also did not give me a proper diagnosis. Just need to relace the camera for $980.00 in a link that was a text message.

- #11622468October 29, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
While traveling on a bridge with a very steep incline, the forward safety system light came on, which disabled the cruise control. We could not resolve the warning light issue, despite taking it thru a car wash, hoping that the sensor was just dirty. The warning light remained on for several days, then went away. One month later, on a sunny, dry day, the light returned. I made an appt at the local dealership, where the car was purchased and they told me that the front sensor was out of alignment and I most likely hit something, which I did not. $370 for the alignment and since they assumed I hit something, it voided the warranty.

- #11621694October 24, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving highway speeds (65mph-75mph) the emergency braking system randomly activated causing my car to slow to almost a halt and swerve itself in the middle of the highway almost causing multiple accidents. It has happened 2-3 times over the past 2-3 months. Brought to a dealer and it could not be "duplicated" so I was sent on my way worried about this car.

My hyundai elantra 2022 hybrid abruptly told me to pull over after driving on the highway for 30 minutes. The Hybrid Warning System light came up on dash and told me to pull over. After pulling over the car lost power and had to be jumped with the 12V battery reset button. Car is able to be driven again but will continue to have the same problem every 30 minutes unless the air conditioner and apple airplay or radio is off. I sent the car to Hyundai Dealership 7200 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89117 since [XXX] and the service technician did not contact me back for one week until I went in [XXX] to inquire. They said there is a voltage shortage somewhere but can not pinpoint yet and are working on it. I was given number to Hyundai customer service and a case manager is trying to contact the dealership to inquire the warranty before providing rental car. The dealership is not picking up so this write will go in [XXX] to try to connect case manager and get rental loaner car situated. When driving the vehicle for more than 10 minutes, the dash will display " Check hybrid system. Stop safely" the vehicle will completely stall and will not allow you accelerate forcing you to pull over, turn the vehicle off and reset the 12v battery. Once this is done the car will turn on normally as if nothing happened. This issue happens randomly and without a warning. It was occurred on the highway many times while traveling 60+ mph and I had to stop abruptly and was forced to slow down drastically and pull over on a median and reset the car. Another incident, I was in the middle of intersection about to turn left and my vehicle stalled out in the middle of oncoming traffic causing cars to have to swerve to avoid me in the middle of the intersection. Also since it occurs very randomly, the car stalling out and it not allowing you to accelerate it poses a risk to drivers that are not paying attention and could cause a rear end accident. I have taken my car to the dealership twice for this issue and they have not been able to diagnose the issue but can see the history of the codes the car gave when it occurs. There was a recall and I took my vehicle so they can perform software update and the issue was still occurring despite the update. This has been occurring since late 2023. I purchased the car in 2021/2022.

We were on our way home from the beach on [XXX]. Coming through Birmingham on [XXX] in the far left (fast) lane traveling 78-80 mph with traffic flow, the car starts sounding a loud alarm with red flashing lights on the dashboard. The notification flashing said to “Check Hybrid system HEV BATTERY, Stop safely”. The car began to power down with no acceleration. I was unable to get across to the far-right lane to pull over, we had to just squeeze in between the concrete barrier and the cars flying by. Not to mention no flashers – nothing. The car is DEAD. We started to google hoping someone else had this issue and posted what we could do. There was a video for this exact issue stating to push a button on the left side of the dash that would reset the battery. We did that and it began to power back on. We rode in the far-right lane for the rest of the ride home, worried it would happen again. It did. On [XXX]., I was able to move over while it was powering down and get out of traffic. We received a notice from Hyundai around this time stating there were 3 recalls that needed to be fixed and one involved the HEV battery. We assumed it would fix this issue. We got another notice about 3 additional recalls (one also involved the HEV battery) and we called to get it scheduled but they were already booked out until Sept. So, we scheduled that appointment for the 2nd week in Sept. Fast forward a few weeks after making that appointment and after the recalls were done, it did it again 2 days in a row on my way home from work. One of these times it powered down and the only place to pull off was in a turning lane. The turning lane happened to be for oncoming traffic, but I thought I could hit the reset fast enough to be safe. It took a little longer than expected and I have many videos of this and cars were having to go around me to make their turn. I have one other I can go into more detail another way. We dropped the car at a dealership on 8/12 and have h INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that when his son started the vehicle, the instrument panel failed to illuminate. Additionally, while driving approximately 10 MPH, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact tested the battery with a voltage reader the voltage and the voltage had gone from 12.8V to 12.4V within five days. The contact was concerned that the battery had lost voltage within five days. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

Teenage daughter was in seat belt. Laid over a little when she sat back up the seat belt tighten around her waist and would not release. When tried to pull down from top it continue to tighten and lock around abdomen. With every small move it locked up more until there was no choice but you cut the belt because it was cutting off circulation.
