- #11651280March 28, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The millimeter wave radar has failed. While using adaptive cruise control the vehicle set off many alarms without prior warning. The vehicle suddenly showed that adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, road departure mitigation, frontal collision, low speed parking were no longer functioning and to see a dealer. I was not using frontal collision no road departure mitigation as these features had twice before unexpectedly applied heavy breaking without warning with no obstructions near vehicle. Fortunately no accident occurred but very unnerving to say the least. The dealer has confirmed that the millimeter wave radar has failed and will need replaced. Honda sensing is not very reliable and should be used with caution if used at all

I applied my brake pedal to slow for traffic just before entering a roundabout. I came nearly to a full stop, but then with my foot still on the brake pedal, the car surged forward as if I had floored the gas pedal. I kept pressing very hard on the brake pedal, but the car kept speeding forward. I was able to steer in between 2 oncoming cars without hitting them. My left front tire then hit the curb and the car bounced off a metal traffic sign post. I then went down a steep dirt embankment and crashed into a swale with some large rocks. My car finally came to a stop, rim deep in soft dirt just off the shoulder of the road. I did not notice any warning lights come on. I don't know what system malfunctioned, but it had something to do with fuel delivery and possibly the cruise control and automatic braking functions. I was very lucky I was not injured. This malfunction could have caused a serious and possibly a fatal crash. This malfunction put me and nearby motorists at risk of being hit by an out of control vehicle. I checked the floor mat and it was not displaced. There were no loose objects that could have affected the gas or brake pedals. The police officer accused me of stepping on the gas instead of the brake, but that was definitely not the case, regardless of what he may write in his report. The car is currently at a local collision repair shop. They will be checking with the code reader to see if any codes come up involving the fuel and braking systems. My insurance adjuster has inspected the car through photos taken by the repair shop. The shop is currently taking the car apart to assess further damage underneath. I am expecting a progress report tomorrow or Tuesday, March 25. This malfunction exactly fits the description of "Sudden Unexpected Acceleration". I have found 62 similar cases after a cursory internet search, so this is nothing new.

My vehicle, 2023 CRV was purchased through here. Now it has a major Recall and they have been giving me the run around since while we drive an UNSAFE vehicle. As it states, “Due to the improperly manufactured electronic power steering (EPS) gearbox worm wheel and improperly set worm gear spring, friction between the worm wheel and worm gear can rise, resulting in additional steering effort and difficulty, increasing the risk of a crash or serious injury.” I reached out 3 times and was lied too about part not being there. Just talked to Honda, they said part has been available for 2 month now. This is supposed to be done within 60 days, but I haven’t heard back for 5 to 6 months now. Everytime I call, there is no supervisor available and all techs are busy. I have 3 kids that ride in this car and need it fixed asap

- #11646380March 4, 2025UNKNOWN OR OTHER, STEERING, STRUCTURE:BODY
I was in the collision accident on the service road when my new Honda CR-V 2023 started skidding to the left while I was making the smooth turn to the right, the vehicle was pulling to the left side of the road, hitting the metal guardrail on the driver side. Looked like I lost traction and skid from left then to the right , unable to control and maneuver the steering wheel. The vehicle was in steering recall but I was not aware of that, did not receive any notice of the recall. If this accident had never happened I probably would continue driving the unsafe vehicle and be more in a severe crash. The vehicle' steering column did not work and the vehicle was not drivable after the accident, and was towed to the car repair shop. I immediately notified the State Farm insurance about the collision but nobody told me I had to call the police.

The steering wheel in my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring is "sticking" when going around wide turns on the highway. This issue is not experienced while driving around city streets. It feels like the steering wheel gently locks into place, but can easily be dislodged by giving it a little more turning pressure. The sticking sensation feels as though it has progressively been getting more pronounced in the past few months. This would certainly become a major safety issue if the steering wheel locks up completely at highway speeds. I have contacted the Honda Service Center at my local dealership regarding this issue. No warning lamps or messages appear on the dashboard and the latest Vehicle Health Report which I receive via email every month reports no issues.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Failure to Perform Recall Repair on Honda CR-V Hybrid Issue Description: On [XXX], I purchased a Honda CR-V Hybrid on credit from a dealership in Weston, Florida. In November 2024, I was informed that my vehicle was included in a Honda recall campaign due to a defect affecting its safe operation. I repeatedly contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, but they informed me that the necessary replacement parts were not available. They promised to call me once the parts arrived, but from November 2024 to March 2025 (more than 4 months), I have not been given the opportunity to schedule the repair. As of today, the dealership has failed to take any action to remedy the defect, which violates my rights and poses a safety risk to the operation of my vehicle. Request for Action: I request that the NHTSA: Investigate this matter and require the dealership to perform the necessary repairs within a reasonable timeframe. Clarify my rights in this situation, including whether I am entitled to a vehicle replacement or a loaner car while waiting for the repair. I urge you to take action, as operating a vehicle with defective parts may present a safety hazard. Steering sticks when driving on the road, like it has worn tooth in a gear. You can feel it in the steering wheel. It also makes the car drift from side to side. The vehicle wants to wander on the roadway.

I am concerned because Honda has notified me of two potential recalls on my vehicle, but I have not been able to have my car inspected to determine if it's affected. Additionally, the parts needed for the recall repairs are unavailable. I was informed several months ago, but there has been no clear timeline for when the parts will be available or when my car can be checked.

My car steering well gets randomly stuck for seconds at a time, Honda has failed to comply and help us get the steering wheel recall done since October 2024 and now February 2025. They keep saying we are on the list and they will send us a letter home or to keep waiting 12-15 days but there is no real help from Honda.
