Issue is with the transmission as it harshly shifts into a low gear when on an incline. This causes me to lock up my breaks as it feels like the truck was rear ended by another vehicle. I’m concerned that this is going to cause an accident. This problem has not been reproduced by the dealer. I’ve taken it to the dealership several times. No warning lamps or messages.

My truck engine has failed due to metal shavings in the oil related to the L87 engine recall, and the failure occurred after GM had replaced the truck’s oil as part of the recall remedy. The recall remedy did not prevent the failure of the engine.

The tailgate opens unexpectedly, it can be inspected but it is in for repairs on 6/15/26. There was luggage in the back and it could have fallen out on the freeway. The problem has not been repeated by the dealer, but it has occurred several times in the past. The vehicle had not been inspected by others. There was no warning that the tailgate opened. They start to occur randomly several months ago.

On XXX, while traveling at 75 mph on a major interstate highway, this 2024 GMC Sierra Crew Cab suffered a sudden and catastrophic internal engine seizure, resulting in an immediate and total loss of propulsion. This defect put the safety of all occupants and surrounding motorists at extreme risk, forcing the driver to navigate a completely unpowered, rapidly decelerating vehicle through high-speed traffic to reach the shoulder without the aid of engine power. There were absolutely no warning lamps, error messages, or mechanical symptoms prior to the failure; the engine locked up instantaneously without any advance warning. Following the incident, the vehicle was flatbed-towed to an authorized franchise dealership (Dossett GMC in [XXX]), where it remains un-repaired and is currently available for inspection by the manufacturer or federal investigators upon request. Critically, this vehicle was previously presented to a certified General Motors dealership at 34,766 miles for inspection and service compliance under Federal Safety Recall N252494001 (which covers engine component failure and subsequent loss of propulsion). The vehicle was cleared as passing the manufacturer's inspection protocol at that time. The total engine failure and seizure occurred less than 9,000 miles later at approximately 43,634 miles. The catastrophic field failure of this vehicle demonstrates that the manufacturer's current safety recall inspection and remedy are insufficient to identify or mitigate the defect, presenting an ongoing and severe risk to public highway safety. I was driving down the highway and the top grill trim 84957848 part number, flew off. Hit my windshield. Could’ve caused the small car behind me to blow a tire or damaged their vehicle.

top grill deflector flew off at highway speeds creating a safety hazard for me and others in the highway. 2022 GMC Sierra with the same part and grill was previously recalled for this identical issue. 2022-2026 models have the same problem and should be included in the recall. - #11742824June 8, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Unexpected braking at highway speeds. This has at least 50 times at highway speeds. The truck has experienced repeated false Forward Collision Alerts and un-commanded Automatic Emergency Braking events. Adaptive Cruise Control frequently detects roadside objects and vehicles in adjacent lanes, particularly on curves. The vehicle has never had windshield replacement, front-end damage, suspension modifications, or aftermarket accessories. This is creating a safety hazard because the truck brakes unexpectedly in traffic at any speed.

I was merging onto the highway in my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4X equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine at about 50mph when the gauge cluster emitted a “Reduced Acceleration Drive With Care” message followed by a check engine light. The check engine light presented indicated a “P0747” and “P0700” code. The vehicle was then stuck in 5th gear at highway speeds. Luckily there was no traffic present during this event due to the reduced acceleration of the vehicle and confusion caused to the operator. This could have been a dangerous situation due to the sudden change in handling of the vehicle. I have since then had the vehicle towed to the dealership in which it was purchased from for them to do their investigation to see how to fix the issue. This is a very well known issue with these GM heavy duty pickups. There is currently a recall on these trucks for this exact issue but my truck at this point in time is not included in said recall. I believe the recall is for 2020-2022 vehicles. Mine happens to be a 2024 which uses the same transmission as the older model vehicles in the recall. There are many other owners of these trucks like myself who have experienced this exact same issue. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this issue has been reported either. Something must be done about this.

The screen shakes. Goes black. Zooms in randomly without prompting. Started dialing up people from recent calls. While trying to get the navigation working. I started drifting into oncoming traffic. Fortunately was able to course correct and avoid collision. Buttons are most time not responsive to touch. It is distracting. The system has never fully worked as promised and is a distraction. And as a result a serious safety hazard.

After the latest update from the Dealer, the integrated trailer brake module no longer shows an output of how much power it's applying to the trailer brake system. It just stays blank. I can tell that the brakes actually are being applied, however not having indication of them being applied and how much pressure is applied is concerning.

Engine seized at 23,291 miles, approximately 3,661 miles after GM's authorized dealer performed a PicoScope inspection under Recall N252494000 and certified the engine as passing. July 2025 recall attempt was documented as incomplete with no remedy available. November 2025 inspection passed the engine. Engine seized March 2026. New engine installed under Special Coverage N252494003. New drivability concern — hesitation and lurch at low speeds — appeared immediately after the repair.

Check engine light illuminated with service transmission. The next day transmission started slipping and finally would not engage in reverse. Dealership Has it now and after diagnosis they advised that they had replaced the electronic control module to which, on the test drive, the gauge cluster blacked out and they got more codes. The cpdes that the vehical threw were the transmission valve body needed to be replaced. The truck has 24k miles on it.
