The trim piece above the grill and below where the hood sits when closed failed/cracked at all attachment points (8 clips and 2 screws). This happened at highway speeds. The trim piece which is approximately 4-5 ft long and 3-4 in wide flew above the hood, struck the windshield and then flew behind the vehicle and may have struck another vehicle or motorcycle rider. This is a dangerous situation that could have injured or killed a motercycle rider if it had struck them. Apparently, based upon postings in forums and speaking with repair shops and the dealership this has happened a lot with this particular piece.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shifted into a higher or a lower gear, the contact stated that when this occurs the vehicle will aggressively jerk into either the higher or lower gear, and the vehicle experiences reduced acceleration to approximately 30 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was a leak in a backflow valve that was responsible for the failure experienced. The contact stated that the failure had occurred five times was provided different causes for the failure, even though the contact stated that the failure was the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

I was driving on the highway at approximately 65mph and the upper top moulding suddenly broke off, flew across my truck hitting my windshield, before landing in traffic. I had not had any previous damage to my truck prior to this incident. I am concerned this is a widespread issue that is creating an undue burden on the owners and potentially create unsafe conditions to nearby vehicles/pedestrians. I took my truck to the dealership as I have a warranty, but they refused to cover the cost of replacement.

The volume of my stereo went to 100% max volume, the only way to turn it down was to continue to turn the dial as it continued to go up in volume. Once I was able to get out of traffic and pull over I turned off my vehicle and opened my door to turn it off but when I restarted it happened again. I tried restarting again and waiting longer between and it went back to normal volume control. This has happened twice since, my hands aren’t on any controls when it happens.

The stereo turned all the way up and the sound buttons on the steering wheel plus the manual volume button were not responsive and it would not turn off. I turned the truck off and it still was on for 15 minutes. I turned it from Sirius XM to FM and then the volume worked but it hurt my ears and should never happen again.

I was driving down the highway at approximately 60 mph, and the upper front trim from above the grill flew off, struck, and cracked my windshield. Based on my research, this is a very common problem and a serious safety concern for drivers of 2022-2024 GMC Sierras. It is also a safety issue to the general public for anyone traveling or walking near this vehicle when this condition occurs. There was also an article published on gmauthority website about this common issue as well as multiple Reddit posts and GM Forums.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while attempting to park the vehicle inside a parking lot, the contact attempted to shift to park(P); however, the shifter handle fractured, and the vehicle remained in drive(D). The contact restarted the vehicle and the message that the "Vehicle in Gear" message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was advised that the shifter cable had seized the transmission and the gear shifter handle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the trailer plug was connected, and electrical fuses popped. The contact stated that all the fuses were blown. In addition, the contact stated while driving the vehicle, the trailer brakes failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the trailer brakes went off and on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with trailer brake control module failure. The contact was informed that the trailer brake control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure had previously occurred, and an unknown part was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS ARE COMING ON SINCVE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, SUCH AS ABS, ENGINE POWER REDUCED, OIL CHANGING SERVICE, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM, WHEEL TRACKING, SERVICE ESC, PASSING GEAR CUTS OUT. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MANY TIMES AND IS IN THE SHOP NOW. I HAVE A DEEP CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.

Driving down the road at 60 mph, the front upper grill piece just came off, flew up into the windshield and then over the cab of the truck and landed in the street. This is a known defect on these trucks and has happened in 100's of cases. When it happens it makes you react as if you had hit something with the truck, if there had been anyone behind me it could have also caused damage or made them react badly to something flying thru the air. When it happened to me I was prepared for it since I had read online of it happening to so many people. The cause is that its build with really flimsy, very thin tabs that just cant hold up to the wind speed and use needed for being mounted in the front of the vehicle.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the warning message "transmission overheated" had suddenly displayed and an audible alarm activated. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission valve body assembly needed to be replaced. The transmission valve body assembly was replaced and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,334.
