Do not replace parts for diagnostic trouble code P059F as this diagnostic trouble code is often an indicator of obstruction in the shutter such as ice or snow. Engineering is aware of the concern with P151E and working toward a permanent solution. Technician will need to contact General Motors Technical Assistance for further support.

  15116A - CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM (REVISED PART SECTION AND SERVICE PROCEDURE). VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A HOOD STRIKER THAT MAY FRACTURE OVER TIME FROM CORROSION. DURING AN EXTENDED DURABILITY TEST, THE HOOD STRIKER FAILED TO RETAIN THE HOOD IN A CLOSED POSITION. IF THE HOOD IS NOT RETAINED IN A CLOSED AND LOCKED POSITION, THE HOOD MAY OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED, WHICH MAY BLOCK THE DRIVER’S VISION, POTENTIALLY INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL HOOD STRIKER WITH A REVISED ASSEMBLY.

Technician will need to inspect the oil cooler if equipped for possible leaking into the cooling system through the radiator.
