Summary
Rear View Camera Guidelines Not Present at Times Condition Some customers may report that the Rear View Camera (RVC) guidelines are temporarily not available at times but the RVC will remain on during the concern. Additionally, no related DTCs will be found if this bulletin applies. One example of when this concern may be observed is if a customer quickly starts the car and immediately places the shifter in Reverse while the infotainment system is still in the initial boot up process. Cause This is a result of the RVC image being provided via an alternate robust RVC feed from the Video Bypass Module (NGI systems) or from the radio (BYOM2 and Info 3.0 systems). This alternate robust RVC feed is provided in the event that the primary RVC feed is not available for any reason just to ensure that the RVC image is always present when in reverse. Correction If this concern is experienced and no related codes are present, DO NOT replace any parts as it is normal for the RVC guidelines not to be present when the RVC image being displayed is from the alternate robust RVC feed. If this occurs after quickly starting the vehicle and immediately placing the shifter in Drive, the RVC guidelines can be displayed again in most cases if they are really needed by safely coming to a stop, placing the transmission in Park for a moment, and then shifting to Reverse again.

If information is present when scrolling up and down, they may also comment that certain items are missing when compared to other like vehicles Cause This condition may be caused when all/some of the options not being selected in the active info pages menu. Correction If this concern is encountered, determine if all/any of the selections in the active info pages menu are not selected. To do this, follow the steps listed below.

Diagnostic Tip for Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated - DTC P249D, P249E, U029D, U029E Set Some customers may comment that the MIL is illuminated. The technician may find one or more of the following DTCs set: U029D U029E P249D P249E Note: The graphic above depicts an example of a torn and missing seal. Moisture intrusion past a damaged (1) seal located in the connector for the NOx sensor wiring harness. Missing (2) seal located in the connector for the NOx sensor wiring harness. Correction If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, perform normal diagnostics for the codes set. ⇒ If diagnostics lead to NOx sensor replacement, inspect the mating chassis electrical connector for corrosion. Clean and repair as necessary.

Summary
17357 and 17366 - Service update. General Motors has released four field actions related to a condition in which certain vehicles may have an incorrect torsion bar built into the front seat belt retractors. Vehicles in dealer new inventory were placed on stop delivery earlier this month and the field actions were released as parts become available. This message is being sent to provide a summary of the status of these field actions. Part Numbers - An issue has been reported that some of the belt kit part numbers listed in these bulletins may not be listed in EPC. This makes it difficult to identify which part number to install on the vehicle. We are quickly working to remedy this situation. Until the correction is completed, dealers should verify part number progressions utilizing their parts system resources prior to reaching out for additional assistance. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope to have it corrected soon. Service Update Bulletin 17357 - Applies to certain vehicles. The total number of U.S. vehicles involved is approximately 14,483. Dealers will replace the Monroney label. Bulletin 17357 was released to dealers on 9/6. If you have not received a replacement window label for a vehicle in dealer new inventory, please request a replacement using the process given in the bulletin. Service Update Bulletin 17366 - Applies to certain vehicles. The total number of U.S. vehicles involved is approximately 345. Dealers will replace seat belt retractors in first row driver and passenger position with correct parts. Bulletin 17366 was released to dealers on 9/22. The parts pre-ship has completed and dealers should begin receiving parts now.

Technician will use Global Diagnostic System 2 to review the Firmware Over-the-Air version. This Preliminary information communicatesA vehicle may have a concern of engine noise and/or a misfire. This may be caused by a broken rocker arm.Abroken rocker arms that could result in the valve dropping to the cylinder, causing a catastrophic failure and the engine requires replacement due to cylinder head and block damage. If a broken rocker arm is found check to see if the valve dropped into the cylinder if so the engine will need to be replaced.On occasions the valve will not drop, reinstall any valve keepers and replace all the intake rocker arms.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have raised dents or ripple appearance in the side outer panel of the cargo box around the perimeter of the wheel house opening. Technician should first access the rear of the inner wheelhouse area through the tail lamp cavity and the front of the wheelhouse from under the vehicle, and coat the inner hem of the wheel house to side outer panel with 3M Rust Fighter I. After allowing the 3M Rust Fighter I to dry then apply several coats of Nox Rust X-121B undercoating.
