Customer statement: Head lamp low beam not functioning and/or warning within the DIP. Workshop findings: DTCs C119813 Low beam light bulb open circuit active/static and/or C1198FA Low beam light bulb short circuit active/static logged within diagnostic address D6 (light control left) and/or D7 (light control right). Technical background: The DTCs once triggered are unable to be cleared, with the DTCs logged the Headlamp low beam will not operate. In the event the symptoms are as described, conduct the instructions within the Measure section to completion noting the following: -The update to address D6 Must be done first followed by the update to address D. -Regardless of the DTC which is evident or the address in which the DTC/DTCs are evident, both SVM codes MUST be applied. IMPORTANT: There are separate SVM codes for each diagnostic address D6 (light control left) - 4V0D6BA01 (MUST BE APPLIED FIRST). D7 (light control right) - 4V0D7BA01 (MUST BE APPLIED SECOND).

SummaryEngine Cooling System - DTC P218100 - V8 Kovomo Customer statement / workshop findings: Emission Control Lamp illuminated on Driver Instrument Panel. The time to reach the correct engine coolant operating temperature has increased. Diagnostic Trouble Code(DTC) P218100 -Cooling System Performance is stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM), the vehicle warm up time is longer when compared to other vehicles of the same type. Technical background: It is possible for the engine coolant Thermostat to corrode overtime, this corrosion is due to an adverse reaction of the Thermostat material with the engine coolant. The corrosion and subsequent build-up of debris prevents the correct operation of the thermostat when closing, resulting in over cooling. The ECM triggers a DTC when the target engine temperature is outside of the specified parameter.

Technical background: The list of Bentley vehicles below are fitted with air springs as part of the suspension system. Should air leak from the air springs, this will cause the suspension to drop. However, the dropping of the suspension does not necessarily mean that the air spring is faulty. The Measure section of this TPI describes how and where to check for air leaks on the front and rear air springs, the air pump compressor, pipes, valve unit and air reservoirs. This includes potential air leak points on the air springs and also the locations of an air leak that can be repaired without the need to replace an air spring.

SummaryBuzzing noise from engine area. Customer statement / workshop findings Workshop findings: Buzzing noise heard at idle from the sump area when the vehicle is elevated on a workshop ramp. The noise cannot be heard from inside the cabin or outside of the vehicle in normal circumstances. Technical background: A buzzing noise can be generated by the oil pump when the engine is running at idle. Measure: Test a comparable vehicle with the same Engine derivative. If the same noise is apparent on the comparable vehicle and no oil pressure warnings or relevant DTCs are stored then the noise can be considered a characteristic of the vehicle and no further action should be taken.
