The diagnostic process involves checking if the vehicle is on the Rapid Service Update (RSU) VIN list and then monitoring the brake pedal switch pressure using the scan tool's data and graphics functions. The expected pressure readings when activating the first stage of the switch should be up to 4 Bar (for H1/M1/N4 models) and 6 Bar (for B1 models).

Repair Procedure Summary

Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 08-275-25 REV. A, which supersedes TSB 08-275-25 dated August 21, 2025, outlines the steps for addressing the Jeep Compass brake warning lamp C1215-86 issue. The repair primarily involves inspecting and potentially reseating the brake pedal switch.

1. Initial Check: Verify the vehicle's VIN is on the RSU list. If not, the bulletin does not apply.

3. Module Selection: Select the vehicle's VIN and model, navigate to the topology, and select the ABS module (as shown in Fig. 1 of the TSB).
4. Data Monitoring: Access the DATA function (Fig. 2) to monitor the pressure of the brake fluid (Fig. 3) and the brake light switch status (normal open and normal closed options, Fig. 4).
5. Graphical Analysis: Use the graphics function (Fig. 5) to monitor pressure readings while slowly depressing the brake pedal. The pressure should reach up to 4 Bar (H1/M1/N4) or 6 Bar (B1) (Fig. 6).
6. Switch Reseating (if necessary): If the pressure readings are incorrect (greater than 4 Bar or 6 Bar), the technician will disconnect the negative battery terminal, wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge, then remove the brake pedal switch by turning it counterclockwise. The switch is then repositioned and turned clockwise until it clicks into place.
7. Final Steps: Reconnect the battery, clear any stored DTCs, and perform a final check of the residual brake pressure with the engine running and transmission in Park (Fig. 7). The pressure should now be less than or equal to the specified values.

After applying this TSB, it is not necessary to send DID-I or DID-A.
