What Vehicles Qualify for the Investigation

American Honda is interested in vehicles that meet specific criteria to ensure the collected data is relevant to their investigation into the Honda CR-V windshield scratch. A vehicle qualifies if it meets all of the following requirements:

• The front windshield must have a visible scratch.
• It is possible to place a paper behind the scratch to enhance its visibility for clear photographic documentation (one wide-angle and one close-up photo are required).
• There have been no prior repairs or replacements of the front windshield.
• The vehicle has not been involved in a collision.
• No repair attempts have been made on the scratch during the current dealership visit.

What Dealers Are Asked to Do

If a 2024-2025 Honda CR-V arrives at a dealership and meets the qualifying conditions for a front windshield scratch, the dealership's Technical Information & Support (TIS) team is instructed to email [email protected] or call 800-880-1072 (Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm PST). TIS will then provide further instructions and record specific vehicle information. The email to TIS must include the model year (e.g., 2024), model name (e.g., CR-V), the issue (e.g., "Windshield Scratch"), and the VIN. The body of the email should also contain the dealer number, the sender's name and phone number, current mileage, confirmation that the vehicle meets all five qualifiers, and two attached photos of the scratch.
