Important Warnings for Owners and Dealers

• "Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery Stop."

This Delivery Stop applies to model year 2025-2026 BMW vehicles that were produced between April 14, 2025, and June 3, 2025. Affected models include the F95 X5 M Sports Activity Vehicle (production date June 3, 2025), F96 X6 M Sports Activity Coupe (June 29, 2025), G07 X7 Sports Activity Vehicle (May 22-23, 2025), G70 7 Series Sedan (April 14-20, 2025), and G90 M5 Sedan (April 16-May 5, 2025). The repair for the BMW S68T engine upper oil pan screws is classified as both mobile friendly and remote software upgrade (RSU) friendly.

Repair Procedure

The corrective action involves replacing six specific upper oil pan screws on the S68T engine. Technicians are instructed to use Repair Instruction 11 13 020, titled "Remove and Install Lower Oil Pan Section." It is crucial not to remove the entire upper engine oil pan or the engine oil pump from the vehicle during this process.

After the lower oil pan is removed, the six affected screws must be replaced one at a time. The service document includes an illustration highlighting the specific screws to be replaced, located at positions 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, and 14. These screws must be replaced in that specific order only. Each new screw must be torqued to a Joining Torque of 10 Nm, followed by an Angle Torque of 90 degrees.
