Front License Plate Installation Procedure

2. Determine Placement: Refer to the Elsa repair manual (Body >> Body Exterior >> 66 Exterior Equipment >> Radiator Grille/Front Trim >> License Plate, Mounting) for the exact dimensions for correct license plate placement. Key dimensions are -a- 21.0 mm, -b- 89.0 mm, and -c- 120.5 mm.
3. Create Template: Fashion a template from a manila folder or card stock using the specified dimensions. Align the top edge of the template with the top fold and ensure the centerline is consistent with the Audi Rings motif.
4. Mark Holes: Use a hole-punch to mark the screw attachment points on the template.
5. Transfer Marks: Position the template on the bumper and mark the locations of the holes onto the vehicle.
6. Drill Holes: Drill two 3mm (1/8") diameter holes. Ensure the holes are no deeper than 15mm (19/32"). It is recommended to mark the 15mm depth on the drill bit with tape for accuracy.
7. Install Screws: Install the N 909 747 01 screws into the drilled holes.
8. Torque Screws: Torque the screws to 2.0 Nm.
