Understanding the AEB System Malfunction
This warranty extension specifically covers a diagnosed and confirmed malfunction of the vehicle's AEB system. This issue must result from a failure or malfunction of the AEB system's control unit, camera(s), LIDAR, and/or sensor(s), which are components essential for automatic emergency braking functionality. If you experience an Audi e-tron AEB System malfunction, this extension may apply to your vehicle. The AEB system is designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions by automatically applying the brakes if a potential frontal collision is detected and the driver does not react in time.
Warranty Coverage Details
Effective May 16, 2024, the New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW) for covered vehicles will be extended for a period of up to 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the expiration of the Covered Vehicle's NVLW. This extension covers 75% of the cost of repair for a diagnosed and confirmed malfunction of the AEB system, specifically when the issue originates from the AEB system's control unit, camera(s), LIDAR, and/or sensor(s). Repairs must be performed by an authorized Audi dealer to qualify.
For vehicles where the NVLW time limitation had already expired as of May 16, 2024, the time limitation of this Warranty Extension will be extended until November 16, 2024. This provides a specific window for owners of older, affected vehicles to seek repairs under the extended coverage.
Exclusions from Coverage
It is important to note that certain conditions are explicitly excluded from this warranty extension. Coverage does not apply to damage, failure, or malfunction of any part of the AEB system that resulted from:
- Abuse, alteration, or modification of the vehicle.
- A collision, crash, vandalism, or other impact.
- Movement, displacement, or damage to the AEB sensors.
- Weather and/or environmental conditions.
- Damage from any outside source or factor.
Checking Vehicle Eligibility
To determine if your Audi is eligible for this Limited Warranty Extension, authorized Audi dealers can check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the Elsa system under "Vehicle Data." The "Warranty" section of the "Vehicle Data" screen will display "Warranty Key 'U71'" if the vehicle is applicable for this Warranty Extension. Owners can inquire with their dealer about this specific warranty key.

The reimbursement covers 75% of the paid invoice amount for parts and labor, limited to one repair/replacement per Covered Vehicle.
