Audi recommends using an approved battery charger to prevent excessive battery discharge during the inspection. Guided Fault Finding (GFF) must be used, and the session completed and sent to GFF Paperless. The Total PDI Test must be completed prior to any other work involving the scan tool. Technicians are also instructed to start GFF with the engine running to identify control modules in transport mode.

Vehicle Preparation and System Checks

Driver Assistance Systems and Post-Road Test Checks

Driver assistance systems are thoroughly checked, including cruise control/ACC functionality, Audi side assist, parking system, and Head-up display. Navigation systems are activated, and directions are followed back to the dealership.

A critical part of the post-road test inspection involves the emergency call system. Technicians must verify the SOS button is green and the Roadside assistance button LED remains off. It can take up to 20 minutes for the emergency call system to activate after flight/transport mode deactivation.

Important Warning for Owners

The vehicle must not be delivered to the customer if the emergency call function has not been successfully activated (LED lights up in green).

Further post-road test steps include interrogating fault memory, uploading the Diagnostic Log to GFF Paperless Server, checking service intervals, engine oil level, and topping off all fluids. The yellow tire pressure tag must be installed on the steering wheel, and a 30 Day Inventory Maintenance Sticker applied. Showroom chargers are installed to keep the battery charged.
