Parked my vehicle, opened the back hatch to check for shopping bags, closed the back hatch using the automatic button. While in the store, I was called to the front. A worker reported that my window in my hatch just "popped." He could hear the glass break and when I arrived it was still making a crackling noise. Camera footage reviewed, no one was near my car to have broken it.

Multiple times the seat belt on driver side gets stuck making it a safety hazard, could happen to other seat belts but it is unsafe to have a passenger. The belt gets stuck in the webbing/anchor. I have been stranded in a parking lot multiple times till I figure out how to unstuck it in the webbing/anchor. This puts me in a safety hazard if I am in an unsafe parking lot. And what would happen in a car accident if the anchor/webbing blocks the seatbelt from protecting me? I have disabilities and chronic pain, I cannot imagine another car accident that would further my disabilities.

The contact owns a 2026 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on several occasions, the RPM elevated to 8,000 RPM without the accelerator pedal depressed. The contact slowed down and came to a complete stop, and the vehicle shut off, and the lights were inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle was restarted after several attempts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 6,250.

My daughter suffered a catastrophic failure of the drivetrain in her 2023 Nissan Rogue while leaving Knoxville, Tennessee, on [XXX]. I had the car towed to Ted Russell Nissan, 8565 Kingston Pike, 37919. After a few days, they informed us that it would be repaired under warranty and provided us with a new Nissan Rogue (vin#[XXX]) as a loaner/rental free of charge until the repairs were completed. Five days later, she placed her three year old son in his car seat in the back passenger side of the Rogue, in the driveway of her home in Johnson City, TN. When she walked around to the driver’s door, the car locked itself, locking the key fob, her phone, and her son in the car on a hot sunny day. She used a tablet to call her mother who called 911. The police were dispatched and extracted the child by breaking into the driver’s door. The lock system clearly failed, as it is not supposed to be possible to lock the key fob in the vehicle. Clearly, the child’s life was threatened by this failure. I contacted the dealer and relayed this information to them. Their only response was ‘is there any damage to the vehicle’. When I returned the vehicle on September 12, they had no questions about the incident and made no indication that they intended to investigate or repair this problem. There were no warnings or indications that the lock system was failing. The dealer made no effort to contact my daughter, the police, or other witnesses to the incident. While their indifference to the safety of a child is beyond offensive, I am concerned that they had not addressed this failure and someone else could be at risk if they rent or purchase that vehicle. This form did not allow me to upload it, but I also have security camera footage of my daughter being locked out of the vehicle, the frantic effort to comfort the child through the window while waiting for the police, and the traumatized child being remove from the vehicle. Went out to grab something for the Rogue and noticed the rear windshield was blown out from the inside. Glass was all over outside of the vehicle. The vehicle sat overnight and had not been used for 10 hours before it was seen. [XXX] left a half hour before and didn’t see any damage. I picked up my adult daughter from the LAX on August 5th at 9:00am. I was in the driver’s seat and pushed the button to open the liftgate, so she could load her luggage. As she was loading her luggage, the power liftgate closed on her - unprompted. It hit her in the back of the head. (across the back, near the base of her skull) She yelled at me for "closing the trunk on her head" but I did not hit any button. She had a really bad headache for an hour or so, but later that evening and the next day, she developed severe back of the head and neck pain. We took her to a emergency clinic the next morning on 8/6/26 and the physician gave her medicine (injection and prescription) for severe acute headache and cervical paraspinal muscle spasm. He told her to follow up with neurology bc she may have trigemenal neuralgia. We did not put the pieces together (that the liftgate was the source of her pain) until later... after the liftgate knocked me unconscious on 9/1 and I now have a traumatic brain injury and neck injury.

The power liftgate has closed a couple of times without being prompted. (no one has pushed the button inside the car, or on the door. No one is kicking under the car. No one is pushing the button on the key fob) After injuring 2 of my family members, we are now very cautious when using the liftgate. One person must be standing under the liftgate to make sure it doesn't close umprompted and hurt anyone. (I have notified Nissan and the NHTSA about the 2 incidents with injuries, both required medical care). So she was not injured. but we are all scared of this car... but it is our only source of transportation. And her cosmetology case is massive and will only fit in the trunk. On 9/30/2026, I was dropping my daughter off at cosmetology school and she was retreiving her cosmetology case from the trunk when the liftgate started closing on her - unprompted. I HAVE THIS ON CELL PHONE VIDEO. (Just like I have dash cam of the incident when I was knocked unconscious by the liftgate and now have a traumatic brain injury and neck injury). Luckily- we were paying very close attention and we pushed the liftgate back up after it started closing on my daughter.

The power liftgate in my 2026 Nissan Rogue Platinum continues to close unprompted. There have been 2 injuries (one minor and one significant). And 2 near misses. This is the 2nd near miss. On 9/15/2026, around 2pm (timestamp - according to dash cam footage) my daughter was loading a small wagon and tote in the back of the car. We were transporting belongings to her father who is in a long term care facility with dementia. After the previous injuries from the liftgate, we now ensure 2 people are at the back of the car so one can intervene if the liftgate starts to close. She had loaded the late tote when the liftgate started closing umprompted. I was able to stop it from hitting her becuase I was standing guard. I have filed complaints with Nissan and the NHTSA for the incidents. We have no other means of transportation or we would not use this car.

on 9/15/2026 (9:30am), I used the Nissan app to unlock my car to get my sunglasses. The car unlocked fine. I retrieved the sunglasses and tried to use the app to lock the doors but the app said the doors could not lock bc the car thought the trunk was open. (it was not) It did finally lock the doors, but kept giving me a message that the trunk was open. The trunk was not open. I have cell phone video of this. On October 1, 2026, the seat belt reminder did not go off (which is the first time it hasn't. it always goes off). I have cell phone video of this. On October 2, 2026, I used the pre-start engine option via the app to cool off the car. Even after I had started the car with the key fob and was driving down the road, the pre-start was still giving me a count down that the engine would turn off... even though we were driving down the road. I have cell phone video of this. Basically - after the liftgate has closed without warning several times (resulting in one significant injury, one minor injury and 2 near misses), I now keep my iphone recording almost the entire time I'm in the car and when we are load and unloading things.

I have a 2026 Nissan Rogue. The back window spontaneously "popped" and shattered. I understand there is an issue with 2025 Rogue doing this. I purchased mine in October of 2025. I was in the drivers seat and had pushed the rear hatch button to open it. It went up approximately 1/2 way and there was a loud "pop", to the point my neighbors came out to see what happened. I called my dealership and they had me bring it in. They informed me there was no recall for the glass and could not cover it under warranty because they had no "proof" it was spontaneous. I paid 100% to have my window replaced by Safelite at a cost of $374.00.

While driving at highway speeds, the panoramic sunroof glass spontaneously exploded without any prior warning, impact, or rock strikes. The sudden, loud explosion caused severe driver distraction and panic, creating an immediate safety hazard on the highway. Additionally, shattered glass fragments fell onto the interior sunshade, posing a significant risk of lacerations to the occupants. The vehicle was immediately taken to an authorized Nissan dealership, where service technicians inspected the roof and found no evidence of external impact. A warranty case was opened with Nissan Corporate. The vehicle is currently sitting at my local Nissan dealership and is fully available for inspection. The dealer has taken photos (again) and submitted them to the manufacturer. However, the vehicle has been sitting for weeks without a repair timeline, and the dealer is refusing to provide a warranty loaner vehicle while waiting for Nissan Corporate to approve the claim. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before this sudden structural failure.

Car experiences a bump steer situation. When hitting a certain bump, not all bumps. Rear end shifts to the right. Feels uncontrollable and unsafe at higher speeds. Car is under warranty. Have had it looked at three times. No results from dealer. Contacted Nissan, have a case number and am trying to get results. Nothing. I feel it is a design flaw. Service manager at dealership informed me and Nissan that she has had multiple complaints on this model. There are other experiences from customers online under bump steer situation. I think this should be looked at. Please respond. 2026 Nissan rogue. Thank you

The rear tailgate window shattered while parked in the driveway. It occurred overnight and was discovered first thing in the morning. Glass fragments were propelled several feet away from the vehicle. Our 2020 Rogue spent five years parked in the exact place without any windows shattering. Our new 2026.5 Rogue had only spent 3 months parked there when the window shattered. We brought it to the dealer who said there was no warranty on broken windows so we had it repaired on our own and our insurance covered the replacement.

- #11764565September 15, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
Three days before the accident, I experienced an unusual issue with the vehicle. When I pressed the brake pedal to start the vehicle, I heard an unusual sound that I had not normally heard when starting the car. It was heard from the outside of my car and as well as I felt it on brakes as I pressed it. My neighbor was present and advised me to turn the vehicle off and restart it. After I turned the vehicle off and restarted it, the sound was no longer present. Three days later, while driving the vehicle, I attempted to apply the brakes to slow/stop, but the vehicle did not respond as expected. I pressed the brake pedal in an attempt to stop the vehicle but was unable to stop, resulting in a collision. Because of the unusual sound that occurred while pressing the brake pedal three days earlier and the subsequent loss of braking ability during the accident, I am concerned that there may have been a malfunction involving the vehicle's braking system or a related component. The accident was reported to law enforcement, and the vehicle sustained significant damage. My insurance company subsequently determined that the vehicle was a total loss. I am submitting this complaint so that the incident and the earlier warning sign can be documented and reviewed by NHTSA as a potential vehicle safety issue.

Loss of acceleration uphill and when trying to turn onto a street. My 2026 Nissan Rogue went in on May 15, 2026. It had water valve replaced, problem not resolved. They then replaced turbo, problem not resolved. Replaced Catalytic converter because it was clogged from coolant honeycombing. Problem resolved. Out of the shop, July 13, 2026 ( In the shop over 2 months). Back in the shop on July 23, 2026, hard knock on the motor and check engine light came on. Nissan shop determined motor needs replacement. Picked up vehicle on 8/14/26. Loss of acceleration again, dropped off on Sept 2nd and was informed my catalytic converter needs to be replaced again. Still in the shop as of 9/7/26

I am reporting a serious safety incident involving the powered rear liftgate of my 2026 Nissan Rogue Platinum. On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at approximately 9 AM, I was helping my daughter unload her cosmetology case at the Sherman Oaks Galleria. The rear liftgate was open. We were both standing behind the vehicle, facing away from it toward her cosmetology case (which had become unlatched so we were fixing it). No one pressed a button on the liftgate, the key fob, or inside the vehicle to initiate closure. Neither of us intentionally activated the hands-free liftgate sensor. The liftgate began closing and struck the back of my head. It did not reverse upon contacting me and continued pushing downward. My daughter intervened to raise the liftgate by hitting the button. (Audio of incident is preserved on dash cam) An ER visit revealed healed injury with occipital hematoma. I experienced a concussion and neck injury from the lift gate. Followed up with neurology - I was Dx with post concussion syndrome and post concussive headaches. And whiplash. I continue to have headaches, light sensitivity, brain fog and very bad neck pain. Please investigate this. *written with help of chat bc my head hurts and I’m foggy. But my daughter and I both read over this report and it’s correct.

The short inserts in the front grille of my 2026 Nissan Rogue SV have noticeable free movement at their attachment points. All short inserts can move forward/backward, laterally, and angularly. The longer grille inserts do not exhibit the same condition. I reported this condition to authorized Nissan dealers because of concern about the long-term integrity and retention of these components when subjected to aerodynamic loads and high-frequency vibration during normal vehicle operation. The condition was reproduced and documented by authorized Nissan dealers. At Nissan's direction, a dealer recorded the movement and submitted it for warranty review. Nissan subsequently authorized replacement of the complete front grille under the new-vehicle warranty. The grille was replaced, but the replacement immediately exhibited essentially the same movement. I continued reporting the condition to Nissan Consumer Affairs. Nissan later arranged an evaluation involving regional/technical personnel and subsequently informed me that the movement was a “characteristic of the vehicle” and that no further corrective action would be taken. I have personally inspected other comparable 2026 Nissan Rogue vehicles and found that some do not exhibit this movement in the short grille inserts. Nissan has not provided an engineering specification, tolerance, or measurement establishing acceptable movement. My safety concern is the long-term integrity and retention of the short inserts and their attachment points under repeated aerodynamic loading and high-frequency vibration. No insert has detached, and I am not asserting that detachment will occur. I am requesting that NHTSA evaluate this condition, including the movement and retention of the short grille inserts, and physically inspect my vehicle or a comparable vehicle if appropriate. My vehicle is available for inspection, and I have documentation and videos showing the condition before and after replacement.
