When driving tried to give it gas/accelerate and it stalled, jerks/chugs hard with no warnings. Then after the chugs stop when trying to give gas there is no response. Acts like the transmission is in protective mode. The motor is still running and was able to coast however when trying to accelerate there was no response. Had to pull to side of road. I was able to turn it off and back on and seemed to act normal again. It acts like the current recall of NHTSA#23V445 on all the other models in same years. The check engine light did come on steady and it has the following 3 codes when checked P008A low pressure fuel, P1463 gas and P0087 fuel rail system pressure low. I called the dealership and am taking it in tomorrow to drop off for them to inspect on Monday and they believe those codes are still covered under warranty. They offered a rental to use until looked at and fixed.

Vehicle: 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 4MATIC Current mileage: Approximately 109,000 Date of most recent major incident:XXX I am reporting serious, recurring safety concerns involving my 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 4MATIC, including engine malfunction, loss of acceleration, repeated overheating, misfire warnings, and intermittent electronic display failure. I purchased this vehicle Certified Pre-Owned in XXX with approximately 44,000 miles. Since purchasing it, I have experienced multiple significant mechanical failures despite repeated Mercedes-Benz dealership repairs. SUMMER 2024 – REPEATED OVERHEATING ON [XXX] While traveling on [XXX] in [XXX], my vehicle began overheating. I contacted Mercedes-Benz and was advised that I could continue driving. The vehicle repeatedly overheated, requiring me to pull onto the shoulder of the interstate multiple times to allow the engine to cool before attempting to continue. I was traveling away from home and ultimately required assistance from another individual who picked me up and provided somewhere for me to stay. I believe this incident placed my personal safety at risk because I was repeatedly forced to stop along an interstate due to an overheating engine. The vehicle was subsequently taken to a Mercedes-Benz dealership in [XXX], for repair. XXX – ENGINE MISFIRES AND MAJOR ENGINE REPAIR While traveling in [XXX], the check-engine light illuminated intermittently. After returning home, the warning returned. I was advised of ignition/misfire problems involving cylinders 1 and 3. Mercedes-Benz subsequently performed significant engine work, which was described to me as replacement or repair of ignition components and the upper portion of the engine. I was told this involved a known manufacturer issue. During the same service, Mercedes-Benz identified an oil leak involving the oil-filter housing and perform- I have more INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 4MATIC, with approximately 70,000 miles, developed an intermittent Check Engine warning and began running rough and shaking during operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership for diagnosis. The dealer confirmed a major engine problem and determined that the cylinder head assembly requires replacement. I am concerned that the failure of a major internal engine component on a vehicle of this age and mileage could create a safety risk, particularly because the vehicle was running rough and shaking while being driven and the Check Engine warning was intermittent. The vehicle is currently at the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership and the cylinder head repair/replacement has begun. The dealer's documented diagnosis states: “Cylinder Head Assembly: Replace Cylinder Head.” I am reporting this issue because I believe NHTSA should be aware of this engine/cylinder-head failure and determine whether other 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 vehicles have experienced similar failures.

SUBJECT: URGENT: Safety Recall Campaign 26V481 / XXX– Unreasonable Remedy Delay and Economic Hardship (VIN: [XXX]). I am formally logging a safety complaint regarding the unreasonable delay by Mercedes-Benz in providing a remedy for NHTSA Recall 26V481 (Mercedes Campaign XXX), affecting my vehicle (VIN: [XXX]). The manufacturer reported this critical defect to the NHTSA on XXX. Despite months having passed, and with owner notifications scheduled for XXX, the remedy remains unavailable. My local authorized dealerships (Mercedes-Benz of West Palm Beach and Delray) have canceled my service appointments, stating they have zero parts allocation from corporate and cannot perform repairs. This vehicle is a commercial asset utilized for peer-to-peer car sharing on the Turo platform. Because this recall involves a severe rollaway risk due to a defective door lock microswitch, Turo has automatically unlisted and deactivated my vehicle to comply with safety regulations. Mercedes-Benz’s failure to distribute parts is causing severe, compounding financial damages due to lost rental revenue, leaving me stranded with an unsafe vehicle that is legally and commercially inoperable. I request that the NHTSA intervene to hold the manufacturer accountable and expedite parts allocation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

NHTSA Recall 26V481 (Mercedes-Benz recall no. 2026070007). Interim owner notification letter dated September 18, 2026, titled "Replace Driver Door Lock." The micro-switch in the driver door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open driver door, which can prevent the electronic parking brake or "Auto-Park" feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Mercedes-Benz states in the interim letter that the remedy is not yet available and provides no date for when parts will arrive, leaving owners driving or parking a vehicle with a known rollaway defect. No crash, fire, injury, or fatality has occurred. Request: NHTSA should monitor this recall and press Mercedes-Benz for an expedited remedy.

I am submitting this complaint because I believe the repair performed under NHTSA Recall 21V990 / Mercedes-Benz Campaign 2022070009 in May 2024 failed to adequately correct the safety defect identified in the recall. When driving my axle snapped causing my tire to pop out and me to loose control of the car causing a crash into the curb. I have since been without a vehicle with Mercedes Benz of Augusta denying my vehicle after having it towed. They refused to even look at it seeing the axle issue. The recall specifically states: “Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain Model Year 2019–2021 A-Class and GLB-Class vehicles, the corrosion protection of the integral carrier of the front axle might not be sustained over the lifetime of the vehicle. Under specific environmental influences, corrosion of the integral carrier of the front axle might occur after several years. As a result, depending on the intensity and location of the corrosion, an impairment of the structural durability of the integral carrier as well as the connection to other components cannot be ruled out. In this case, vehicle steering might be affected which could potentially increase the risk of a crash.” My 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 received the recall repair in May 2024. Despite the recall repair being completed, the vehicle subsequently experienced a serious front-end/steering-related mechanical failure involving components connected to the front axle, resulting in an accident and loss of steering control.I am particularly concerned because the failure occurred in the same general front-axle area addressed by Recall 21V990, and the recall itself specifically identifies the possibility that deterioration of the integral carrier and its connections can affect steering and increase the risk of a crash.I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the May 2024 recall remedy was properly performed and whether the recall remedy adequately addresses the underlying safety defect in this vehicle.

- #11764044September 14, 2026VISIBILITY/WIPER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB has a serious, unresolved safety issue involving the hood-latch warning and windshield wipers. While I am driving, the hood-open warning appears and the windshield wipers cut in and out or shut off unexpectedly. This problem was already occurring by March 2026. The vehicle currently has approximately 85,000 miles. During the recent heavy rain in New Jersey, these interruptions have compromised my visibility while the vehicle was moving. When the wipers stop clearing rain, my ability to see traffic, pedestrians, lane markings, and roadway hazards is impaired. This can prevent me from recognizing danger and reacting in time, putting me and other road users at immediate risk of a serious collision. I am concerned that this recurring failure could cause serious injury or death. A Mercedes-Benz dealership inspected the vehicle and diagnosed an “internal failure of hood switch.” A Mercedes-Benz technician also told me that the windshield-wiper issue was tied to the hood-latch sensor. The switch was subsequently replaced, but the hood warning returned almost immediately after driving only a few feet. The warning and intermittent wiper shutdowns have continued despite that attempted repair. I have submitted a safety complaint to Mercedes-Benz USA requesting urgent attention and a permanent repair. The issue remains unresolved, and I cannot reliably depend on the windshield wipers to maintain visibility during rain. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the hood-latch sensor fault and its interaction with the windshield-wiper controls, including whether an erroneous hood-open signal can disable the wipers while driving and whether other vehicles may be affected. This requires urgent attention because the unexpected loss of an essential visibility function while driving creates a serious danger to me and everyone sharing the road.

On June 5 2026, my wife drove the vehicle into the garage. While she was exiting the vehicle with the driver's door open, the vehicle unexpectedly continued moving backward. My wife had to move out of the vehicle's path to avoid being struck or potentially crushed. The vehicle continued moving with the driver's door open, and the open door ultimately became lodged against a structural portion of the garage-door opening. Fortunately, my wife escaped physical injury. The vehicle and driver's-door area, however, sustained substantial damage.

From: [XXX] Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] SUBJECT: Vehicle: New Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 39,660 Total Purchase Price: $48,450.00 To Mercedes-Benz USA Corporate Management and Dealership Service Director, This letter serves as a formal written statement regarding an ongoing, unremedied mechanical failure that has now escalated into a severe, life-threatening safety hazard. I am officially rejecting the dealership's requests to appraise or trade in this vehicle, and I am demanding a full manufacturer repurchase (buyback) of the vehicle for my purchase price, down payment, finance charges, associated fees and taxes under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Background of Failed Repairs My vehicle has already spent 15 cumulative days out of service for an ongoing engine defect. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership recently diagnosed the vehicle and performed a major cylinder head assembly job/replacement to resolve engine misfires and a persistent Check Engine Light. This defect is well-documented by Mercedes-Benz under its active 15-year/150,000-mile extended warranty program for the M260 engine cylinder head. The Critical Safety Incident Despite the recent cylinder head replacement, the Check Engine Light has returned, signaling a total failure of the repair. More critically, on August 25, 2026 while driving the vehicle, the engine catastrophically stalled without warning in live traffic. Due to the sudden loss of engine power, power steering, and braking assist, I was nearly involved in a severe traffic accident. This vehicle is inherently unsafe, unroadworthy, and poses an immediate danger to myself and others on the road. Formal Demands Immediate Buyback Processing: Because this vehicle cannot be repaired after a major engine overhaul and now actively stalls, I am demanding a full refund of my purchase price, down payment including all associated taxes, fees, and finance charges. Recently leased a 2026 Mercedes GLB250 in May 2026. Driving home on highway the tire popped and completely shredded rendering vehicle undriveable. No warning only to smell some smoke and then the warning light came on to say the tire was at 14psi and declining. I immediately pulled off highway and was shocked to see a completely shredded tired that exploded. I towed car to a dealership and then contacted Me3rcedes to which they were very unresponsive or concerned. It would take them 3 days to determine if they would pay for tire and would not reimburse me. I need my vehicle to work and they offered no accommodations.

Vehicle stalls out at highway speeds. It will be in gear, shown on the dash, it will be redlining, but not move. It will stall out while the vehicle is in motion. The accelerator does not provide power to the transmission and acts as if it is in neutral. All I can do is coast to the side of the road and power off the car, open the door to provide a full power down, then restart the vehicle. This has happened over a dozen times since August 2025. Mercedes says there is no fix. It’s been in the shop more than 10 times for over 60 days. They have even sent out field engineers who cannot duplicate the issue, yet there are codes stored in the cars computer. The car also does not always shift into reverse or drive from park. The transmission often has a small 1-2 second delay upon pressing the accelerator from a stop, which sometimes puts me into the path of an oncoming car, say when turning left on a flashing yellow. Since the car has a delayed response, it puts me I harms way when I may have had time to go, but then it didn’t move. It also drives very jerky at times, shifts late or not at all. I have video of this but cannot load it through this form, so we need to send it a different way. I’ve opened multiple buy back requests as a lemon but Mercedes says no. I have far more documents than I can upload here if you have a way to send them. Mercedes says the car is safe and told me in person “if you crash, that’s why you have airbags”. Because the car can stall without notice at highway speeds, it is not safe in my opinion and it’s appalling they won’t fix it or buy it back.

As I was driving down road car began to lose power, check engine light came on and car went into limp mode. Car was towed to nearest repair shop where analysis was made. I was advised to take to dealership for repair. Advised that there was a service campaign issued by the manufacturer on GLB class with M260 motors. See attached report. Took car to MB dealer and informed that an update to the ECU was needed but not available at this time. See attached report. Returned home to PA called Mercedes main office Customer service to check warranty and coverage yes it covered once dealer verifies codes. Called NHTSA to report where they verified that the manufacturer had agreed to repair the issue and extended the waranty instead of doing a recall. Was advised to file report online because the dealership is now demanding payment to do the software update. Which was already verified see attached. The panoramic sunroof glass on my 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB suddenly shattered while I was driving on Interstate 20. The failure occurred without any observed impact from another vehicle, object, or roadway debris. The damaged sunroof and vehicle are available for inspection upon request. The failure occurred unexpectedly while traveling at highway speed and was accompanied by a loud explosion-like sound that resembled a gunshot. The sudden noise startled me and could have caused a loss of vehicle control. Additionally, shattered glass posed a potential risk of injury to vehicle occupants and could have created a hazard for other motorists. The incident was reported to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. The dealership confirmed that the sunroof glass had shattered. However, I do not agree with the conclusion that roadway debris caused the failure because I did not observe any object strike the vehicle and no supporting evidence has been provided to me. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership and the incident has been reported to Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance. No police report was filed because there was no collision or criminal activity involved. No warning lamps, messages, alerts, or other symptoms appeared before the failure. The sunroof functioned normally prior to the incident. The failure occurred suddenly and without warning while the vehicle was being driven. I am requesting a thorough review of this incident, including an evaluation of whether the sunroof failure may have resulted from a manufacturing defect, thermal stress, or another non-impact-related cause. I believe the circumstances surrounding this event warrant further investigation because the sudden failure created a significant safety concern while operating the vehicle at highway speeds. I am seeking a fair resolution and a detailed explanation of the basis for the determination that roadway debris caused the damage

While driving on the highway at 70mph my transmission malfunction warning light illuminated in red and my vehicle went into limp mode, creating a life threatening safety defect at highway speeds. I immediately took the vehicle to Mercedes Benz of Pittsburgh. The dealer's own diagnostic tech notes stated 'software is in preparation for concern' confirming this is a known safety defect on Mercedes' end. The dealer was unable to replicate the concern or produce stored fault codes but acknowledged software is actively being developed to address this issue. I contacted MBUSA who confirmed the only escalation path available is a buyback, meaning Mercedes cannot provide a timeline for the software fix. I am currently unable to safely drive my vehicle and am requesting this be investigated as a potential safety defect that may affect other 2021 Mercedes GLB 250 owners.
