  STRUCTURE, AIR BAGS

The contact owns a 2026 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that there was white powder discovered inside the vehicle. The contact initially thought that it was mold. The contact stated that the heating system had caused the issue. The air bag dust was on the headliner and the driver's side A-pillar. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the issue. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer, Mercedes-Benz Atlanta South Parts Department (3800 Royal S Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30349), who was unable to determine the source of the white powder, and indicated that it was dust from outside. The contact located an article related to the air bag leaking. The vehicle with driven with the windows closed and the air conditioner on. The driver had previously vacuumed the dust. The Mercedes-Benz manufacturer was contacted on the main number. The approximate failure mileage was 1,729.

  ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, POWER TRAIN

CEL followed by no crank / no start. Codes u3017 and u0168. Software flashed and no crank / no start returned. SAM & EIS modules replaced and no crank/no start returned with new codes. U103F00 + P143400 + P051300. Now Mercedes is directing the replacement of the ethernet harness between the SAM and EIS. This intermittent communication or electrical fault can cause the vehicle to unexpectedly lose the ability to start. This creates a safety concern because the vehicle could fail to restart after being stopped in traffic, at an intersection, at a fuel station, or in another location where reliable starting is necessary. The intermittent nature of the failure also makes it difficult to predict when it will occur. The vehicle has sometimes operated normally for extended periods and then unexpectedly failed to start. As of filing this report the issue remains unresolved.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING

I acquired a Mercedes-Benz C300 from Mercedes-Benz of White Plains at [XXX] [XXX] on the last day of XXX Within 2 days of the car sitting in my driveway, I took it out for a drive; the electronic systems failed while I was driving on the highway. The speedometer and odometer went dark, and the turn signals stopped working. Blind Spot Warning, All electronics. I immediately return the vehicle to the dealership. One of the technicians and the manager acknowledged that not only do they see it because it’s still current, but they’ve had similar issues before. They would attempt to repair it with some software updates. In that same conversation, they acknowledged again that this problem had happened before in different capacities. The dealership still has the car 23 days later. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

When driving 75mph in order to change my favorite radio station, I must go to the center tablet, scroll until I find the station desired and then must tap it in the center or it does not change. On my 2025 MB C model you could change the channels on the steering column. I asked MB to research this issue and I was told a third party wrote the 2026 software and did not include this option! Is it not a safety concern that when doing 75 mph you must take your eyes off the road to find and change a radio channel? No One cares at MB and I was told that I need to live with it !! Really that is the solution??
