SummaryINFOTAINMENT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION When replacing an AV control unit (Infotainment Control Unit), for any reason, all three steps below are required. If all three steps are not completed on vehicles equipped with a TCU, the Over The Air (OTA) updates will not work, and other functions may be inoperative. HINT: Not all APPLIED VEHICLES are OTA-update capable. 1. Reprogram the AV control unit. 2. Configure the AV control unit. 3. Write the VIN to the AV control unit. IMPORTANT: Steps 1-3 above must be performed in the sequential order shown below.

SummaryDRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (cv Joint Boot Kit) availability. ï· If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the retailer. ï· If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to ITB21-002 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

SummaryTELEMATICS CONTROL UNIT RESET AFTER AUTOMATIC COLLISION NOTIFICATION SERVICE INFORMATION The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) has the ability to send an automatic collision notification when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 (Automatic eCAll locked) as âCURRENTâ when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 (Automatic eCAll locked) set as âCURRENTâ, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming TCU condition is âUNLOCKâ.

SummaryWireless Apple CarPlay® Update Voluntary Service Campaign ***** Campaign Summary ***** INFINITI is continuing to conduct a Client Service Initiative (CSI) on certain specific model year 2020-2021 QX80 vehicles that were previously included and subsequently removed and suspended from the initiative under PC839. The previous software update did not fully address the intended concerns. INFINITI is launching a new CSI that will provide clients with a free Infotainment software update, which includes Wireless Apple CarPlay®. The CSI will be available until June 30, 2022. The update will bring the vehicleâs software to current production level, improve system overall performance, and enable clientâs use of Apple CarPlay® wirelessly. For more information on Apple CarPlay®, please refer to: INFINITI Apple CarPlay® Features & FAQs INFINITIâs InTouch system is designed to improve the driving experience. Certain Model Year 2020 and 2021 INFINITI vehicles are already equipped with Apple CarPlay® to enhance iPhone usersâ experience with iOS13 and later, but they currently require a USB cord connection to an iPhone to use. The update eliminates the need to remove the iPhone from oneâs pocket or bag. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History â Open Campaign I.D. If a vehicle subject to this client satisfaction activity was part of a retailer trade, the letter associated with that vehicle should be forwarded to the appropriate retailer for upgrade completion.
