The rear view camera intermittently does not work. It is unsafe to rely on it for reversing, and fails me for a state inspection in Maine. I had brought it to the dealer, and they stated other models have a recall for this, but my VIN is not listed. It does not give a warning, when it does not work the screen goes black and says 'camera unavailable, see dealer ' This quote is 863.31 before taxes

The brake pedal suddenly became extremely stiff, accompanied by a hissing sound when the brake pedal was applied. The vehicle does not stop normally or immediately after the brake pedal is pressed, creating a serious safety concern. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealer, who recommended replacement of the brake booster and master cylinder. The dealer also recommended replacement of the ECU and hydro unit associated with the braking system. However, Ford has reportedly informed the dealer that the required ECU is not currently available. I have found several complaints from other owners describing similar brake-related symptoms, including a very stiff brake pedal, hissing noise, and reduced braking effectiveness. Despite these reports, Ford has not adequately addressed what appears to be a potentially serious and recurring safety issue. A sudden loss or significant reduction of braking assistance can substantially increase stopping distance and may result in a collision, particularly in an emergency situation. This is a serious safety concern for the occupants of the vehicle and other road users. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and determine whether there is a safety defect affecting these vehicles. I also request that Ford be required to provide an appropriate and timely remedy for affected vehicles, including vehicles for which replacement parts are currently unavailable.

The back up camera is inoperable at times. Rarely works on hot days or anytime the rear of the EDGE is facing the Sun. It hasn't worked properly for years. I'm not sure of the exact date or mileage it first happened, but it definitely started acting up around 2019.

The car did not brake randomly back in may when I was picking my toddler up from school. I contacted Ford dealership and they said braking issues is a known issue with the edge but my vehicle has no recalls. I could pay almost $300 for a diagnostic fee but nothing would be covered because their was a recall for the brake booster but that was back in 2013-2014. So I went to brakes plus, first they replaced the master cylinder then they replaced the brake booster a week later. Here I am 3 months later and the same issue. The vehicle randomly did not brake AGAIN. Got the vehicle back to brakes plus to have the vehicle looked at again. They replaced the brake booster under warranty then reached out to Ford who let them know the brake booster and brake lines are a know defect with the vehicle and I can have my vehicle looked at by them but I would need to pay the fee and nothing would be covered . How is this a known issue and nothing is covered? Ford checked my Vin and no vehicle recall. I reached out to Ford corporate and they created a case number: Cxh-09196123-F6m4z3 I am pregnant and I feel this car is dangerous if this is a known issue.
