SummarySome 2020-2021 Escape and 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with the 1.5L engine may exhibit a lugging vibration and/or boom noise while driving in gears 5-8 at approximately 1500 engine revolutions per minute (RPM). This may be felt more when the engine is under a light to moderate load. A vibration and/or boom noise could be generated from the firing frequency of the 3 cylinders or when cylinder deactivation occurs and the engine is running on 2 cylinders. Compare to a like vehicle before attempting to diagnose as this condition may be characteristic. Setting the vehicle's drive mode to SPORT may eliminate the condition by changing the shift points of the transmission. Refer to the Owner's Manual for information on drive mode control and how to select them.

SummarySome 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a hiss or rattle noise while driving. This may be due to an internal issue with the manual park release cable. Disconnect the cable from the transmission and road-test the vehicle. If the noise is eliminated, reconnect the cable and inform customers that Ford is working on a resolution scheduled for the end of August 2021. In the interim, let the customer know that the vehicle is safe to drive, and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late August. Once the solution becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates. Manual park release cable replacement may not correct this concern.

SummarySome 2019-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an intermittent audio echo/robotic voice heard during a bluetooth phone call by the person that is not in the vehicle. Using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto instead of Bluetooth can help alleviate the concern. Also turning on, then off, the privacy setting in the SYNC touchscreen can temporarily alleviate the concern. Engineering is currently investigating this concern and will be releasing a service fix in early July 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. Monitor OASIS for updates.

SummarySome 2017-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicle owners may experience a condition of missing Authorization, Command and Control, Battery Charging Details or Phone-as-a-Key setup buttons/selections in their FordPass or LincolnWay App. This condition is due to an error within the FordPass or LincolnWay App and not due to a concern on the vehicle. Verify that the customers FordPass or LincolnWay App is at the latest version. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM)/remote function actuator (RFA) will not resolve this condition. If the condition persists, Utilize the FordPass Guides or Lincoln Way Concierge teams.

SummarySome 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may not be able to perform remote commands via the FordPass/LincolnWay App due to an erroneous deep sleep message. If the vehicle has been driven within 14 days and the battery state of charge is above 9.5 volts when the deep sleep message set, this is an erroneous message. Starting and running the vehicle will clear the message and allow the remote commands to function again. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that will be released via an over the air (OTA) update that is expected in June 2021. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM) will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a lack of power steering assist with DTC U3000 in the PSCM. This DTC is set when a battery charger is installed on the vehicle and the ignition is cycled ON. For vehicles that set this DTC due to the use of a battery charger, the DTC can be cleared and power steering assist restored without replacement of the PSCM. Using the FDRS, select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. Once cleared, cycle the ignition. Reprogram the PSCM using the latest version of FDRS. It is not recommended that a battery charger be installed and running on the vehicle when the ignition is cycled. For claiming, use causal part 3C529 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2018-2021 vehicles supported by FDRS may not list a software update for a module under the SW Updates tab although an SSM or TSB is published for a software update. This may be due to the module already being at the latest software level. A later software level may have been programmed at the assembly plant, during a previous dealer visit or by an over the air (OTA) update for vehicles that have automatic updates enabled in the SYNC system settings. To review a vehicle's OTA update history, visit the Connected Vehicle > OTA Dashboard tab in OASIS. Information about the OTA Dashboard can be found on FMCDealer.com when performing a search on OTA History Job Aid.

SummaryFor 2018-2021 EcoSport/Expedition/Navigator, 2019-2021 Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 Escape/Explorer/SuperDuty/Transit/Aviator/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport/F-150/Mustang/Mach-E the Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics may direct to replace a module on vehicles that use Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). First, an FDRS session must be created on the vehicle prior to removing the faulted module. Once the session is started, run the Programmable Module Installation and replace the module only when instructed by FDRS. Installing a new module prior to starting a scan tool session may result in incomplete module configuration with DTCs U2100, U2101 and/or U2200. Once a session has been started, continue to follow normal WSM procedures to repair the vehicle.

SummaryAll 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles have headlamp low beam pattern with a dark spot dip near the horizon in the left portion of the beam pattern. These dark spots are most noticeable when the high beam is active. Although this dark spot is present by design, this issue may be more perceivable to the customer if the headlamps are aimed too low (dark spot will appear closer to vehicle). The vertical aim should be checked and adjusted upwards if necessary, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 417-01.

SummarySome 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles built on 01-Oct-2020 and through 31-Dec-2020 could experience a whistle noise coming from the front of the vehicle at highway speeds. To correct this condition, adjust the hood rearward. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-03>General procedures>Hood alignment (NOTE: hood to fender gap at base of A-pillar to be no less than 2.5mm to avoid paint chips). Provide approximately 6mm flushness offset between the top of the grille and the leading edge of the hood. After hood adjustment, open and close the hood as validation that there is no contact between the Hood and Fender at the A-Pilar. Conduct a highway drive to confirm whistle noise has been corrected.

SummaryThere is expected to be a low number of vehicles found with a concern door handle. In some of the affected vehicles, the interior door handle may have excessive material present on the door handle cavity. This can cause the door handle cable to bind during operation. If the cable binds, it may result in a door that cannot be opened from the inside. The door can still be opened using the exterior door handle. It is also possible that the door cannot be closed. If the door will not close, the instrument cluster will illuminate with a Door Ajar warning.
