Vehicle Information: • Make: Tesla • Model: Model Y • Year: 2024 Description of the Problem: After a software update pushed by Tesla, the AP4 computer in my 2024 Tesla Model Y shorted out, causing a complete failure of all systems controlled by this computer. The following safety-critical and driver-assist features have become non-functional: Cruise Control (adaptive or otherwise) Back up Camera Forward Collision Warning Lane Departure Warning Lane Keeping Assistance Blind Spot Warning Parking Collision Warning Full Self-Driving and Auto Park features Cameras required for Autopilot functionality Additionally, because the GPS system has failed, the vehicle’s Navigation system is inoperable. This impacts Tesla’s unique route planning feature that sets up Supercharger stops during long journeys. Without a functioning navigation system, I cannot properly plan my travel or locate charging stations, which severely affects the usability of the vehicle. Safety Concerns: The failure of these systems, especially safety features like forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, and blind spot monitoring, puts both the driver and others on the road at risk. Losing access to safety-critical functions after an update is unacceptable and poses a serious danger to vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. Incident Details: • The issue occurred immediately following a software update. • Tesla pushed the update remotely without providing any warning or indication of potential risks. • The failure appears to be related to a hardware short in the AP4 computer, directly caused or exacerbated by the update. The FSD feature for which we have paid in full to Tesla does not work. No cruise control and no Assisted Steering Control or Cruise Control works. As per their Service Department, AP4 Car Computer has internal short and camera can not communicate for above mentioned features.

Several malfunctions: all cameras including rear cameras were disabled, high beams would flash on and off continuously when in auto mode. Front Passenger safety restraint failure alert message that eventually turned off. The car continuously has a humming noise even after turned off. Navigation system was not operable.

After a software update pushed by Tesla, the AP4 computer in my 2024 Tesla Model Y shorted out, causing a complete failure of all systems controlled by this computer. None of cameras on my vehicle are now viewable. Due to the design of the vehicle, reversing without having a backup camera functional is a hazardous event. Also, the following safety-critical and driver-assist features have become non-functional: -Cruise Control (adaptive or otherwise) -Forward Collision Warning -Lane Departure Warning -Lane Keeping Assistance -Blind Spot Warning -Parking Collision Warning -Full Self-Driving and Auto Park features -Cameras required for Autopilot functionality -GPS system has failed, the vehicle’s Navigation system is inoperable. Safety Concerns: The failure of these systems, especially safety features like forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, and blind spot monitoring, puts both the driver and others on the road at risk. Without a backup camera, the risk of causing injury to people or property is greatly increased. Losing access to safety-critical functions after an update is unacceptable and poses a serious danger to vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. All cameras stopped working. Blind spot detection not working. Blinkers stopped working. No parking assist. Auto wipers . Adas not working. Screen auto brightness not working. Clicking when letting off accelerator. We damaged our tire and rim due to this issue.

The autopilot computer failed. This has rendered all safety systems and camera on the vehicle inactive, including the rear view camera, all forward and side cameras so no active safety systems are functioning. This includes crash avoidance, lane keeping, blind spot warning, cruise control, and rear camera during reverse, the vehicle is nearly impossible to reverse as the view is terrible with no cameras.

Hello , I just bought the new Tesla Model Y 2024 in the October and all of a sudden all the driver assistance programs are not working, including the Rear Camera(Reverse camera) I took it for the service on December 4th and they fixed issue on December 5th. After few days on December 13th the same issue happened again and Tesla service center is saying I need to wait till February 20th 2025 for the repair. All cameras are not working in the car, it does not show any backup camera, No forward collision warnings or no lane change assist Tesla is not considering this as a safety issue I am including a chat summary with the service center via PDF file. I have included previous repair invoice also when the same issue happened on 4th December

The car lost all ADAS functions, and GPS on the onboard navigation system. In addition. it can't use regular cruise control and it does not have rear view mirror blind spot warning capability any more. This all happened when the car attempted to install the "holiday" updated from Tesla automatically around 11/29/24 .

Rear visibility in the car is very limited without the federally required backup camera. My New 2024 Model Y Tesla is having a computer failure - no navigation / GPS (stuck at last address when issue occurred) and no cameras (including rear camera). With limited rear windshield visibility and no backup camera functionality, we've been put in dangerous situations. They keep pushing out the service dates waiting on new parts / computers. 2024 Tesla Model Y. All cameras and GPS used for safety and convenience features suddenly stopped working. Everything was working when vehicle parked for the evening, next morning cameras and GPS stopped working. No accident or other incident associated with it. No longer able to use: Backup Camera Automatic Cruise Control (including Full Self Drive (Supervised)) Blind Spot warning when changing lanes. Navigation Parking Collision Warning Automatic Braking There is concern with safety of vehicle overall since many of the safety features rely on Tesla cameras.

AP4 computer failure has led to navigation, cameras, blind spot monitoring, lane departure and other systems being inoperable. Tesla has stated they don’t have the parts to fix and have pushed out my service repair time twice already. Issue reported on December 4th, since then no time table for repair has been given. Tesla keeps stating the car is operable, leaving out the facts it’s dangerous to drive due to small rear windows and blind spots based on the cars design to work with operable cameras that give the drive clearer angles to view.

On 12/16/2024 my vehicle received software update 2024.39.15, after installing the update i went to the grocery store and noticed nothing was working in the car except basic driving functionality. cameras were showing up as a black screen. TACC, aurosteer and FSD supervised were no longer working as well as AEB,FCW,BSM,LDW,LKAS and the gps had me in the middle of the ocean, headlights on during broad daylight. I informed a service center by my home and they simply didn’t care, i took it to another service center 50 minutes away and they took two days to do repairs and diagnostics, i was told the computer had shorted out and the technician replaced the car computer and AI4 (HW4) computer system which runs safety features. A software update physically pushed from tesla should not be shorting out computers on its vehicles, i heavily rely on the cameras and safety features since living in a state where nobody knows how to drive (lol). I hope my vehicle is fixed and this issue doesn’t persist anymore.
