SummaryISTA Premium Repair Instructions. INFORMATION ISPI NEXT ISTA 3.45 introduces a new concept for displaying repair instructions. The new repair instructions have the following advantages compared to the old style: z All instructions (preliminary and follow-up) needed for the repair are included; hyperlinks are no longer needed. z All special tools needed for the repair can be viewed or printed from one tab in ISTA without leaving the repair instructions page. z All technical data and torque specs for the repair can be viewed from one tab in ISTA without leaving the repair instructions page. Currently repair instructions for the timing chain replacement "1131051 - Replace timing chain (N14)" have been converted to this new format. Refer to the attachment which describes how to access and use the instructions. To get initial feedback if any further changes are needed prior to converting all future repair instructions, we have converted the repair instructions used most often to this new concept. Please use these repair instructions when applicable and provide feedback using the attached feedback form. The form can be sent directly to Paul Labrie at [email protected]. Thanks for any feedback that you can provide. Paul Labrie Technical Service 201- 571-5247

Summary"VANOS Control Faults Stored Due To DME Error. The Service Engine Soon (MIL) lamp is illuminated, and the engine could go into a reduced power mode with the ""Drivetrain Malfunction"" message displayed. One or more of the VANOS faults listed in the attachment are stored in the DME, although the engine is mechanically sound and no unusual noises can be heard from the VANOS area. These control faults relate to implausible camshaft position (intake or exhaust), to the camshaft being stuck situation, or to the camshaft angle offset being outside the tolerance range. Due to unfavorable Engine Position Management (EPM) parameters in the DME software, various VANOS control faults could be set."

Summary"MINI ""AMP-up"" Motorer Care Fleet Increases. MINI USA, a division of BMW of North America, LLC (""MIN USA""), is pleased to introduce the Aftersales Mobility Program (AMP) Motorer Care Fleet Increase. The ""AMP-up"" program is designed to support (on a temporary basis) your alternate transportation needs, even in challenging times. When a significant ""service initiative"" (Recall, Service Action or other program) is identified by MINI USA, and this ""AMP-up"" bulletin is referenced under the ""Alternate Transportation"" heading, it will allow you to temporarily ""AMP-up"" your fleet so you can focus on the important things, like Motorer care. We anticipate an increased AMP car demand, in volume and duration, in association with a release of a service initiative. Your Area Manager (AM) has a procedure to assist you in calculating and determining if a temporary fleet increase is needed at your dealer. This option is not available if your dealer already has an approved and active temporary fleet increase in place. Example communication within a service initiative or critical Motorer care notifications: Please refer to AMP Bulletin M01 12 14 for process details. In the communication example above, the following would be required: * All requests must be submitted no later than the Submission Period specified above. * An additional number of vehicles may be added to your existing fleet immediately upon approval and fully utilized for the duration of the pre-determined Increase Period. * Your fleet must be restored to pre-Motorer Care approved limits by the Fleet level Restoration Deadline date, without exception."
