SummaryIf you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices.

SummarySome customers may notice an abnormal noise (i.e. whine, groan, rattle or squeak) coming from the front combination lights when turning them on, or a few minutes after turning them off. The noise may be due to contamination by foreign matter during the manufacturing process. The fan motor bearing may become worn out during use. To eliminate the noise, the production process at the supplier and the material has been modified. NOTE: It is normal for some noise to occur within the first few seconds after starting the engine, when the front combination lights perform a self check (sweep).

SummaryMNAO has recently found an increase in non-returned cores within the United Radio (UR) exchange program. As a reminder, dealers have 90 days, after the order is placed, to return the exchanged part. Failure to return the exchanged part will result in a debit of the full component price. It is highly recommended to set a calendar reminder at the time of the order for no more than 60 days to ensure all orders are returned if repaired and if not repaired, contact the customer to cancel the order and return the unit.

SummarySome CX-5 and CX-30 customers may find that the liftgate does not close when pressing the power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (A) located on the interior liftgate trim. This may be caused by PLG switch corrosion. Water from a high pressure car washer and/or condensation may drip onto the switch connector and cause corrosion. To eliminate this concern, the PLG rear switch has been modified with a waterproof connector.
