Summary"ISSUE: THE PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) AT12MY L538 FROM VIN CH600000 TO VIN CH631089, HAS IN SOME CASES BEEN REPORTED TO EXPERIENCE A BREAK IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE VEHICLE POST A SOFTWARE UPDATE. INCORRECTLY, DEALERS HAVE BEEN CHANGING THE STEERING GEAR TO FIX THE ISSUE. CAUSE IF AN ATTEMPT TO DOWNLOAD THE (SLOW-RATIO) SOFTWARE ONTO A 12MY L538, IVS (IN VEHICLE SOFTWARE) WILL GIVE THEM A DIFFERENT (FAST-RATIO) VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE. ONCE DOWNLOADED, THIS SOFTWARE WILL CAUSE THE PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) TO GO TO AN ERROR STATE AND STOP COMMUNICATING WITH THE REST OF THE VEHICLE."
