STEERING
A warning about my power steering popped up. My power steering is completely out. I had to drive it to the dealership to be worked on. The dealership has it in the shop. It's been there for two months, they cannot find the part. GMC/Chevy offered some money to help cover me since I cannot drive it, but that's when Gerald Jones GMC Aiken, SC deemed it operable. I told Chevy/GMC I would ask what the NHTSA said about that. I asked GMC the definition of operable. I don't have a definition yet. My belief is that my truck is not operable due to a safety issue (power steering) being out. Thank you for always protecting the consumer and protecting us. Per a report from Car Complaints, the lawsuit alleges that 2011- through 2016-model-year Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups equipped with the 6.6L V8 LML turbodiesel Duramax engine are equipped with defective Bosch CP4 fuel pumps that are more fragile and prone to wear than previous CP3 fuel pumps. According to plaintiffs, the defective CP4 pumps can be destroyed by U.S. diesel fuel, which is allegedly “drier” than diesel fuel in other countries. The lawsuit alleges that U.S. diesel fuel does not provide adequate lubrication for the CP4 fuel pump. The lack of lubrication can lead to internal fuel pump damage and result in metal shavings that damage the pump, the fuel system, and the GM Duramax engine as well. This damage can lead to the truck stalling and losing power, and may require the vehicle to be towed to a shop, leaving customers with big repair bills. The lawsuit goes on to allege that GM was aware that the Duramax engines and related fuel pumps were defective prior to selling affected vehicles, but declined to notify customers. Rather, GM allegedly concealed that the defective CP4 pumps may be destroyed by U.S. diesel fuel.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with Tread Wright Tires, Tire Line: Mud Lord, Tire Size: 295/65/R20, DOT Number: 1422. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal flapping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while the vehicle started shaking and vibrating. The contact stopped and inspected the vehicle and discovered that a baseball-sized bubble had developed on the tread of the rear passenger’s side tire. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 2,000.

Driving on the freeway the right back wheel just broke off. The tire went flying across the freeway. No one was hurt physically but it could have been worse. The wheels were not customized or changed in any way. My husband, myself and our baby were inside.

I was pulling a camper in in downtown Dallas Tx and the TCM failed was most ran I’m not sure how times trying to get clear of traffic to safe place on the side of the road.Dealership told me I was just she it out of luck cause there not making the part any more and that’s when I found out GM has known about this for a long time and has done nothing to fix it.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact received notification of; NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering), NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), and 21V504000 (Air Bags). The contact stated that while parked and the vehicle powered on both sides torso air bags deployed without a collision. The driver sustained an ear injury. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I have been having problems with my vehicle cutting off and I would jump start. It often gave be a theft code on the dash. Until one day it stops starting all together. Purchased new 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 in March with ziebart rust protection service done yearly to date. Truck has 74,000 miles valued at 28,000- $30,000 before noticing frame has cracks, holes and excessive rust Truck will not pass inspection now.

In 2017 the truck started making a slight ticking sound from the engine so I asked the mechanic about it when I got the oil changed and he said it was a valve problem the GM had no fix for yet. Over time the ticking got louder so I took it back to the dealership last year and the noise as it turns out was from the exhaust manifold bolts breaking off and the exhaust is leaking into the cab. I contacted GM and could not get them to pay for the repairs. After doing an internet search I found out that this is an ongoing problem with these trucks. This is a safety issue and GM needs to fix the problem. Nhtsa made GM do a recall on the 2019 Buick Enclave because of a possible exhaust leak under the floor and I believe GM should be forced to do a recall on these trucks considering the exhaust fumes are coming out directly in front of the drivers compartment.

The fuel injection pump malfunctioned causing the truck to shut down going down the highway. It was taken to a professional and was confirmed to be an issue with these vehicles. There was no warnings at all. The cost to repair was $8000.00

When backing slowly down a ramp with a boat attached the brakes feel like they are not holding . Feels like I'm going to be in the water with the boat. In drive the brakes work just fine. Only when going down a ramp with the boat it feels like the brake is down as far as it will go and fading or out of pressure. This happened a couple times before this in June and July. Then I replaced the front brakes. First time I backed the boat in after brake change it still happened. I feel the power booster or something else is bad. It's just weird it is only in reverse at slow speeds.

SERVICE BRAKES
I have had several instances when it has become difficult stopping my vehicle, particularly under low-speed conditions like when approaching a stop light or while in a parking lot. I have had to use both feet and all my force to stop the vehicle and several of these times was while towing which only added to the difficulty and danger of the situation. I have replaced my brake pads, rear calipers and flushed the brake fluid all of which has not helped or resolved the issue. A shuttering in the brake pedal often times accompanies this issue, similar to the ABS system activating. I see there is a recall 19V645000 which from my online research seems to mimic what I am experiencing but when I called Chevrolet directly, I was told to make a report on this website. I was not offered any assistance in the matter.

Trailer brake system alert constantly comes on. with or without trailer connected. It comes on from the time I start the truck until I shut it off. It is a distraction when the warning chime is constantly ringing. I can't even use my speaker phone due to the chime constantly ringing. I took it to the local dealer and they can't find the problem. No code comes up on their machines for the problem. No other problems before this happened. Just started about 2 months ago and will not shut off.

A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado seemed to be running rougher after an oil change. When inspected by dealership, Litha Chevrolet located 200 East Cypress Ave in Redding CA, they identified lower end knocking and lifter ticking noise. Also identified was PO300 was randomly missing and PO324 Knock Sensor performance. The dealership recommended total engine replacement, after reviewing the report. The 2015 Silverado is currently out of commission. It is not roadway safe. The Silverado has been serviced regularly as recommended and has not been in any collisions in the past. The truck has had one owner previously, my father, who left me the truck when he perished. I relied on the truck for daily and extended transportation for myself and my children. I have maintained excellent care of the 2015 Silverado with regular maintenance and services. There is no explanation of this issue other than it was caused by faulty equipment from the manufacturer. If you can provide any information regarding how to fix this please contact me. Thank you
