SummaryAlthough the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.

SummaryThis condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off).

SummaryThere are small crack lines in the top area of the headlight lens (the area covered by the lower edge of the hood). A separation mark is created inside of the plastic when the lens is removed from the tool during manufacturing of the headlight. This separation mark is normal, and it is not a defect of the part.

SummarySupersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 64 number 12-22 dated July 5, 2012. After one or both of the front door control units (J386/J387) is replaced, one or both of the rear door control units (J3888/J389) cannot be coded or parameterized via an SVM specified vs. actual comparison (spec/actual). The parameter data in the software coding container has changed for the front and rear door control units. As a result, an SVM code is required to update the parameter data for any replacement control unit. Simply running an SVM spec/actual will not code nor update the parameter data in the new replacement control unit. A hardware change suggestion will be provided when an SVM spec/actual is executed. An additional hardware replacement is not required.

SummaryThe customer says that the vehicle's reception for SIRIUS radio differs from the reception in his or her other Audi vehicle. The customer says that the vehicle's reception for SIRIUS radio only shows "Linking" when the vehicle is driven in Puerto Rico. Starting with the MY15 A3 sedan, the MIB Standard and MIB High hardware use a different SDARS chipset than what was used with MMI3G/3G+. The new SDARS chipset uses the XM band to receive SIRIUS programming, whereas MMI3G/3G+ used the SIRIUS band to receive SIRIUS programming. Both bands transmit the same programming, but are independent signals. MIB radios using the XM band have an enhanced channel line-up which includes channels that are not available on the SIRIUS band.

SummaryThe option to send new text messages cannot be accessed through the Messages function in the MIB MMI telephone menu. Additionally, the option to send text messages using "New" is greyed-out in the Messages menu. Received text messages cannot be displayed. The MIB High system is the first Audi MMI system that supports the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP). Some mobile phones do not have the complete set of MAP features and functions implemented in their operating systems, which affects the available options in the MMI system.

SummarySupersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-92 dated July 16, 2013. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone receives the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call because it assumes that the phone is not responding.
