SummaryComplaint Customer complains about anti-theft alarm system triggering without obvious cause when the vehicle is parked and/or when entering the vehicle. All MFA2 and 167 derivates with code 882 may be affected. This is caused by a sporadic loss of communication to the anti-theft alarm system [N26/6]. In many instances there are one or more FCs U110D87, U001988, U016787 stored in the control units anti-theft alarm system [N26/6] and/or signal acquisition and actuation module [N10] / [N10/6]. The alarm system memory may contain several alarm sources. Please process all following points in succession: 1. Check - Power supply of the overhead control panel [N70] - Ground points of the overhead control panel [N70] ⢠Model series 118, 177, 247: W78 ⢠Model series 167: W15/2 ⢠Model series 243: W78/2 - LIN lines between overhead control panel [N70] and alarm siren [H3/1] - CAN lines between overhead control panel [N70] and signal acquisition and actuation module [N10] or [N10/6] 2. Open TIPS case - Open a TIPS case for vehicles: ⢠As of manufacturing date 01.02.2022, except production plant 4831 Aguascalientes Mexico or 1380 Tuscaloosa ⢠As of manufacturing date 01.08.2022 and production plant 4831 Aguascalientes Mexico or 1380 Tuscaloosa - Attach photo of overhead control panel label (see example images) - Add control unit log of anti-theft alarm system [N26/6] 3. Remedy for vehicles prior to manufacturing date 01.02.2022 (except production plant 4831 Aguascalientes Mexico or 1380 Tuscaloosa) or 01.08.2022 (production plant 4831 Aguascalientes Mexico or 1380 Tuscaloosa) - If the problem cannot be reproduced, the overhead control panel [N70] (anti-theft alarm system [N26/6] is integrated) must be replaced.

The subsequent installation takes roughly 45 minutes and requires the customer's consent in the vehicle. During installation, the system can be used without restriction. The new software will be active after the vehicle has been switched off. MBUSA will conduct an OTA service campaign. Remote software updates are automatically downloaded and installed in the customerâÂÂs vehicle free of charge and do not require a dealer visit. No customer letter will be mailed for this OTA software update.

SummaryComplaint Coolant indicator lamp lights up Coolant level too low Cause If one of the following part numbers is installed when replacing the axle drive module, air may enter into the cooling system. EQB: Part number for front axle: (A 243 340 89 02) or (A 243 340 90 02). Part number for rear axle: (A 243 340 88 02). Therefore, when replacing either electric drive, whether or not a complaint exists as part of this replacement process, always check the radiator cap too and replace it, if necessary. If the complaint for low coolant occurs without an axle drive module replacement, the red radiator cap A 297 500 51 00 should still be replaced for the large chamber. Remedy EQB (model series 243): If a black cap is installed on the large chamber of the coolant expansion reservoir, replace it with a red cap with part number (A 297 500 51 00). The black cap on the small chamber must not be replaced. The correct caps are shown in the picture.

SummaryComplaint Noises when reversing slowly < 4 mph (squeaking) Cause There is a seal in the electric drivetrain that seals off the coolant system from the electric motor. This seal is moistened with coolant during forward travel. As a result of the change in rotational direction when reversing slowly, it may be the case that this sealing ring is no longer moistened. Squeaking noises may occur as a result of the so-called "stick-slip effect". This behavior does not impact the function or durability of the sealing ring and electric drivetrain. Remedy Do not replace any parts. Explain the cause of the noises to the customer.

E.g. when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by double-clicking on the button instead.

Cause Polarity reversal of the lines M20/1 (steering column adjustment motor, forward and backward) and M20/2 (steering column adjustment motor, upward and downward) results in a malfunction of the electric steering column adjustment. Remedy Check the lines (line colors) of M20/1 and M20/2 as per the WIS circuit diagram and correct if necessary.

SummaryComplaint The result from the XENTRY battery test does not match the current state of the battery. Cause The XENTRY battery tester uses the stored on-board electrical system data in the SAM module to access the health of the 12 volt battery. The XENTRY battery test may not take into account a single discharge event because the SAM cannot record the data if the battery is discharged. Note: A discharged battery does not necessarily need to be replaced. A discharged battery may be recovered with no permanent damage. Remedy Follow guided tests as described.
