BMW replaced the brake system twice to fix the brake failure issues we had on our 2024 BMW X7. When we brought our vehicle in for the 1st brake system replacement in June 2024 at 12,000 miles, the dealership inspected tire tread depth and all tires are in green. When we brought our vehicle in for the 2nd brake system replacement in September 2024 at 15,000 miles, both rear tires tread depth became red, indicating that the rear tires need to be replaced immediately. The rear tires had excessive wear in 3 month or 3,000 miles. We did not let anyone else driving the vehicle. So, the excessive rear tire wear was not caused by driving habits, but by the bad/defect brake system BMW replaced. This bad brake system will affect use and maintenance cost of the vehicle in the future. BMW needs to take the responsibility. The dealership technician also expressed the brake concern causing excessive tire wear issue. BMW denied the replacement of the tires upon the dealership technician requested. We as customers need the help of NHTSA. Thank you very much. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We purchased our 2024 BMW X7 in August 2023. We have experienced brake failure twice so far. The first time happened in June 2024. The brake failed in front of the red traffic light. We were lucky that there was no car crossing the road. Otherwise, we would have ended up with an accident. BMW replaced the brake system. But, the post online said that the proposed brake repair does not work. So, I reached out to BMW to let them know to buy back my vehicle as it says online that the proposed brake repair doesn't work, and I can't put my family and kids in the vehicle with potential serious safety issues. But, BMW representative lied to me that the brake issue of my vehicle is permanently fixed, forcing me to drive the vehicle and putting my family in danger. In September 2024 at 3 months after the 1st brake repair, my vehicle lost the brake again. The same brake failure issue happened again. BMW denied my buyback request again. This time the post online also says that the proposed repair still doesn't work. BMW is forcing me to drive the vehicle with serious safety issues again. Please stop BMW forcing their customers to drive the vehicle with known major safety issues. Thanks.

- #11618388October 7, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE
Purchased this 2024 BMW X7M60I in March 23, since day 1 of ownership and with 100 miles on the dash the car has had massive breaking, electrical, and engine issues. Almost every safty light on the dash comes on or is always on. Car was taken to Centry West BMW over many times and many months/years. Previous to this new recall dated Feb 24 they replaced the IBC and DSC and the whole brake booster and brake system. This was completed on Oct 5th of 23. I was told that this would fix all the problems with the car. Since then the car is still having the same issues regarding the brakes, engine, and electrical. Previous to this new recall coming out BMW refused to acknowledge that this car is unsafe and unfit to drive. They assured me that it was fixed. Car was taken back in to dealership on June 14th 24 due to the same issues and more new ones appearing. The dealership once more told me that the car was safe and that they are unaware of any recalls and or issues with the car. From day 1 the vehicle would basically turn into a brick and not start and would not allow itself to be driven or towed either since once the car becomes a brick you are not able to switch the car into neutral to tow it. The car would shut down and shut off completely during driving as well almost causing many accidents. When the car shuts off completely there are no breaks or steering wheel to be able to control the car! After many services visits where they continually would not allow me to list all issues with the car on the intake paperwork during service they finally told me they do not know how to fix it. I reached out to BMW NA and asked for a buy back. I feel that BMW NA and their dealerships do not act in good faith. They know of widespread defects and safty issues and constantly try to fool their customers! This car has many issues and the break booster is just 1 of over 15 major safty issues! BMW should Buy Back all these faulty vehicles and make their customers right!

This BMW X7 car has had a recall, with no resolution on it since Feb of 2024. I purchased my car in July 2024 and the dealer never once mentioned this to me. This is a serious issue and I do not think this was good business. It's also terrifying to think the brakes on such a heavy and fast vehicle can lock up. This is unacceptable. The cars should be taken back by dealers immediately and owners offered new vehicles which are not part of the recall that are safe.

The air condition is inadequate for temperatures above 80°. Due to the inadequacy of the coldness and the speed at which the fan blows, all passengers in a fully loaded vehicle complain of excessive heat temperatures Safety is an issue if left in the vehicle for a long period of time without proper temperatures being reached for all in the vehicle. The problem has not been able to be reproduced by the local dealer, stating that everything is operating within BMW manufacturer specifications. However, the issue is KNOWN to BMW manufacturer, and BMW dealerships, that the air condition system is in adequate for temperatures above 80°. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE SPECIFIC TO THE BMW X7 MODELS. My New 2024 BMW X7 i60 having less than 7000 miles, was recently taken into the local BMW dealership for complaints of slow too cool, or an insufficiently cooling air-conditioning system. The vehicle has third row seating. After a week of keeping the vehicle and my insistence that they keep it to find the issue, the dealer stated that the air conditioning system is operating within BMW manufacturer specifications. However, further research shows that numerous customers of BMW X7 vehicles have complained to the manufacturer with no response, and the same response from dealerships when the vehicle is taken in that the vehicle is operating within manufacturer specifications.

Collision warning failed. Automatic emergency braking failed. Unknown if brakes were delayed or had issue stopping. I rear ended the car the in front of me, going from a stop while attempting to make a right hand turn. There were no system warnings or emergency braking applied although the car is equipped with those and many more safety features. During the accident the air bags were not deployed. So the impact was not severe but caused a combined $10,000 plus in cosmetic damage to both vehicles.

- #11555563November 16, 2023BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
I am writing to report a distressing incident involving my BMW X7's parking assistance system, which occurred on November 1, 2023. I believe this incident raises significant safety and consumer protection concerns and am seeking your assistance in addressing this issue with BMW of North America. On the mentioned date, while using the parking assistance feature to exit my garage, the system collided with another vehicle sliently without any prior warning while I was paying full attention to the parking view which shows the rear reality view as well as surround view to prepare to stop the parking assistant anytime. To make matters worse, it failed to stop automatically and appeared to accelerate, causing considerable damage to my BMW X7's front bumper and the rear bumper of the other vehicle. The concern arises from BMW's extensive advertising that touts the safety and reliability of its parking assistance technology is putting safety of both driver and others AT RISK. I used it with my baby onboard and the colission can risk my baby's health. BMW advertises the parking assistance can be used while driver is not in the car, the risk of collision can possibly lead to a hit into the driver or anyone pass-by. BMW declined to take any responsibility for the incident after I reported and seek compensation for the approximately $2,500 in damages caused by fraud parking assitant. Regrettably, I believe it is crucial for BMW to address this issue to avoid risking of collission by parking assistant, and provide reasonable compensation. For the 5 questions, here are more concrete summary: * The parking assistant system, as well as the sensor to detect the distance from front left bumper, seem to be not working well * Since the parking system cannot detect another car, it may hit a kid next time without any warnings nor any signs on the parking view * Not reproduced yet * Inspected by BMW dealer and BMW NA claims it's all working correctly * No prior warnings

Vehicle would not start after repeated attempts. Several warning alerts — brake malfunction, parking brake malfunction, chassis malfunction, reduced driver assistance warning, drive vehicle to nearest service center. Vehicle started, parking brake would not initially release, then it did and vehicle rolled. Brakes needed to be pressed to the floor to stop the vehicle. Warning alert to secure vehicle. Overall a very unsafe experience, despite the initial warning alerts telling me that I could drive the vehicle to the nearest service center. Vehicle is being towed to dealer service department.
