VISIBILITY/WIPER
Hello, I am concerned about the windshield on our new RAV4. It was chipped and the glass cracked from the passenger side to the drivers side of the car. Currently we are waiting for the car insurance to cover the cost of repair for the windshield. For safety reasons you cannot clearly see out of the windshield because of the crack. The problem cannot be reproduced currently. the problem was inspected by the insurance company representative (SAFELITE) and we are still waiting on the new windshield because apparently there is a hug backlog there was no warning when the windshield cracked. But seemingly cracked when there was no warning, my wife was driving the car when something hit the corner of the windshield (some rock or road debris)

SERVICE BRAKES
When breaking on dry roads no matter my speed, or how hard I press the breaks, the ABS system kicks in momentarily making my vehicle feel like it’s accelerating vs. stopping. This is very intermittent. Tends to happen more on rough city roads, however it really doesn’t matter. I understand ABS is really suppose to work for wet or snow roads in slippery conditions. In my experience ABS has always worked with a rapid pulse. This is certainly not happening. The breaks literally feel like one big skip.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
I purchased a brand new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE on June 30, 2022 and on my first drive, 6.4 miles from the dealership to my home, the the windshield developed a crack on the driver's side. It is available for inspection. Both Toyota and Safelite say they are having supply issues with the windshield and of Sep 1, 2022 neither Toyota or Safelite have replacement windshields for the RAV4. The crack affects vision for both the driver and those outside the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by the local dealer, Toyota of Cedar Park, TX and by Safelite of Austin Texas. The windshield has NOT been inspected by the manufacturer, police, Amica insurance, or any others There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to failure or after the failure.

SERVICE BRAKES
The breaks are failing to stop the car if there is any rough spots in the road it feels like I'm pushing against air, the car jerks, the break pedal will shudder. The car has no warning lights or sounds when this occurs. The car has recently been inspected by the dealership for this issue, they performed a resurfacing to the breaks. The issue has continued and 2 days after repair, car slipped into intersection due to a failure of the breaks and after going over a rough spot in the road.

SUV came on highway on exit ramp car ahead of me sharply moved right to center lane. Seeing the headlights I did too but he sideswiped me on driers side tearing the back tire and everything else out. He flipped me around so now I was facing on coming traffic in center lane. My face hit steering wheel. No airbag deployed

POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle without warning will lose all power; "Accelerator System Malfunction Output Power Reduced Visit Your Dealer" and "Pre-Collision System Malfunction - Visit Your Dealer" are the warning messages that appeared when power was lost. The "Check Engine" light also illuminated as well as a collision error light appeared. The vehicle has done this twice; the first time, the dealer found a recall which was a software update. However, today the vehicle became unresponsive again with the same error messages as before; we were lucky no vehicle hit us from behind since we were turning towards the frontage road to access the highway. The first time this happened, my wife was entering the ramp towards the expressway when the vehicle lost all power and she had to go to the side. Vehicle is now again at the dealer but cannot be serviced until Monday; however, this needs to be addressed since it is a safety concern. On the Toyota App, it is also listing a hybrid malfunction; this needs immediate attention to avoid a catastrophic event. Losing all power with no warning is completely unacceptable.

My Rav4 Hybrid 2022 exhibits a front brake squeal/squeak noise when braking at low speeds. Went to Toyota delearship and they examined but said there's no issue! Called toyota customer service and expected a call back but didn't hear back.(Toyota Case Number 220726001124)

LANE DEPARTURE, SERVICE BRAKES
The contact owns a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the steering wheel suddenly began to turn to the left and the right causing the vehicle to move from lane to lane. Additionally, depressing the brake pedal did not immediately slow or stop the vehicle. The driver was eventually able to regain control of the steering wheel and stopped the vehicle. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the failure was no longer present and the vehicle operated as normal. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer and an engineer from the manufacturer was sent to evaluate the vehicle. The contact was informed that during the incident the lane assist system had activated and attempted to compensate when the driver attempted to steer the vehicle back into the proper lane. No failure was determined. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 800.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The Cruise Control has issues. On 3 long rides so far, I have experienced that it suddenly loses speed and gives the message radar ready now. Furtunately i was maintaining very safe driving distance with other cars on the highway, which has helped me accelerate in time to continue driving and avoid collision. I dont know of any pattern which triggers this. This could lead to a serious problem if it fails in a tricky spot on highway. I am afraid to use it as its not 100 percent reliable.

My Car is Toyota Rav4 2022 Premium XLE have many safety issues -During i'm braking/ hold button and standing on the light i find the car is jumping to front many times it was going to hit some one of pedsterian and car front of me ( it was like Starting engine with jumping) - Precollsion system doesn't work while doen't see any cars front of me while going to traffice light - Keep lane assistant doesn't work and is not senstive sometime my car get out of the lane during i'm driving - Sometime keep lane assistant system pushing the car to get out of the lane

When driving the car on a highway around 45 mph or above you can hear a excessive wind noise near driver window. There are several posts about this issue reported by various owners. This excessive wind noise makes fatigue and tiredness which can have impact on drivers ability and may result in health issues.

On May 13th, 2022, I was in my garage and inside the vehicle in park mode, when I suddenly heard a little crack sound coming from the windshield. It was very faint, but I heard it. Then I noticed that it was the windshield and it had a little crack. On May 19, 2022, I took the vehicle to Elmhurst Toyota and they stated that a rock hit the windshield which is false. I am certain that it is a defect of the windshield in the RAV4's. I am not the first person to complain about the faulty windshield on these models and truly believe that is very unsafe. This needs to be investigated as it can cause a car accident if cracked on the highway.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, POWER TRAIN
The Toyota pre-collision braking system is too slow to release control of the throttle back to the driver. Multiple times it has made the car behave in an unexpected fashion in traffic. The most common scenario is when the driver is stopped and turning left onto a busy street. When a car passes in front of you and you try to accelerate after it passes, the pre-collision braking still thinks there's a car in front of you. Instead of acceleration your car just gently rolls into the street. The driver can't do anything in the moment to override it. The car behaves almost as if the engine has died and you're just slowly rolling into oncoming cross-traffic. I have owned the car for ~2 months, and both I and my wife have experienced multiple such incidents. Any of them could have caused an accident if the oncoming traffic weren't paying attention and braked. It's easily replicated but requires that the car passing in front of you be relatively close (~10 feet).

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The fuel tank warning light comes on when the car still has over 4 gallons of gas remaining in the tank. This was confirmed by checking fuel fill versus tank size and also running vehicle well past warning light. The warning light appears to mislead drivers and is inaccurate. The actual range of the vehicle is misleading with this warning light.
