SummaryTSB: Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) is a critical step in satisfying our dealership?s new car customers. Customer feedback indicates the following areas deserve special attention when performing PDS: - Careful inspection for paint chips/scratches and body dents/dings. - Proper operation of electrical accessories. - Interior cleanliness. - Proper function of mechanical systems. Customer retention and proper maintenance of vehicles are and have always been a major focus for Toyota. To help remind customers that regular service is essential to the proper maintenance of the vehicle, dealers are required to install a service reminder sticker before delivery. By doing this, customers will be reminded to return to your dealership for service. Your current service reminder sticker may be used. (See PDS Check Sheet ?Final Inspection and Cleaning.?) A new PDS Check Sheet has been developed for the 2020 model year 4Runner. Some check points have been added, expanded, or clarified.

SummaryTSB: REVISION NOTICE January 24, 2020 Rev1: ? The entire bulletin has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and service life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As a matter of policy, Toyota does not provide battery warranty coverage for discharged and/or failed batteries due to lack of maintenance. It is the dealer?s responsibility to maintain the specified State-Of-Charge (SOC) of the vehicle?s battery while in stock and ensure proper SOC at delivery. To eliminate customer service concerns due to an undercharged battery during the first few weeks of ownership, ALL dealers should check battery SOC and recharge, if necessary, no more than 48 hours before to customer delivery.

SummaryTSB: REVISION NOTICE December 13, 2019 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include several 2020 model year Toyota vehicles. ? The Required Tools & Equipment section has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Some 2018 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 9) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 3). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system. Follow the process in this bulletin to perform the update.
