Date/Time: XXX, 10:08 AM Location: AutoNation Honda, [XXX] Vehicle: 2019 Honda Odyssey (fuel pump previously replaced under prior Honda recall) Summary: •Refueled vehicle the prior day; strong gasoline odor present in cabin immediately after and persisting overnight. •Odor remained strong the following day — described as intoxicating, required driving with windows down in 100°+ heat to reach the dealership. •Brought vehicle to AutoNation Honda for inspection. •Dealer staff initially attributed the smell to a change in Arizona gasoline ethanol content, stating it was “not a car issue, a gas issue.” •Spoke with Mike, Service Manager, who stated the dealership has inspected approximately 40 similar vehicles with the same complaint and found no resolution. •Mike indicated Honda (the manufacturer) is aware of the issue and is working on a fix, but does not currently have one. •No diagnostic inspection of this vehicle has been performed as of this note (10:08 AM). •Requested a loaner vehicle due to the vehicle being unsafe to drive with children present. Loaner was declined. •Requested the refusal be provided in writing/email. Dealer declined to provide anything in writing. •Mike texted his next-level contact regarding the issue; response indicated AutoNation/dealer has received no official communication from Honda (manufacturer) regarding this issue. •As of 10:08 AM: vehicle has not been diagnosed, no loaner has been provided, and no official Honda guidance has been given to the dealership. Impact: Owner has 4 children and no alternate vehicle. No family/friend backup transportation available. No funds available for a rental vehicle. While driving the engine unexpectedly, it was having problems going over certain RPMs. It sounded very loud.. brought it into Honda of Denton, Texas. They examined it and said there was metal shards in my oil in my engine that something was broken. I needed a complete new engine.. 2019 Honda has a bearing recall for the engine when it fails it causes metal shards in the engine. They told me that my Vin was not covered in this recall, and they could not repair it even though this exactly what has failed in my engine..

While driving my 2019 Honda Odyssey at highway speeds on the 60 freeway, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total engine failure/stall without prior warning. I had all my kids in the car as well. CHP advised to call Honda The sudden stalling resulted in an immediate loss of engine power, creating an unsafe scenario on a high-speed freeway. I was forced to navigate the vehicle across traffic lanes to pull over onto the shoulder safely.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2019 Honda Odyssey. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, information on the vehicle mileage was 82,668, and while providing vehicle information to the leasing agency, it was discovered that the vehicle mileage was 81,668.

The vehicle went into a limp mode due to programming and safety issue known by Honda. One of the six fuel injectors failed according to the fault codes at the dealer. I have reached out to Honda and they won't even acknowledge the safety issue nor are they willing to reimburse the cost of the emergency safety repair caused by the vehicle going into limp mode. They won't put anything in writing nor will they consent to any recorded calls. I have reached out to Brad Ortloff as well and he won't respond. What are they hiding? Why did NHTSA allow Honda to get away with extending the warranty on the fuel injectors for certain Honda Odysseys rather than recalling them? What is the difference between the vehicles that were included? There are numerous vehicles that weren't included that are failing for the exact same reason. I can't get any answers from Honda. They just say they are not licensed techs. Brad Ortloff won't respond. Why is NHTSA allowing Honda to put citizen's safety at risk? Will someone please investigate this safety issue?

The car started having the ACC, LKAS, Collisions Mitigation, Auto High Bam, Road Departure mitigation system warnings. Took it to the dealer for another repair and was told that these lights were due to the front facing camera and was quoted over $1k for repair. I’m convinced it’s electrical and not necessarily what the Honda narrative is. This model has had several issues around electrical components. Please open an investigation into this car around this issue.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH uphill, the vehicle struck a curb. The vehicle was able to drive over the curb, but the air bags deployed. The contact stated that there was no damage to the vehicle to cause the air bags to deploy. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V227000 (Air Bags); as a possible cause for the failure; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

Vehicle: 2019 Honda Odyssey Issue: Unintended airbag deployment consistent with Honda Recall UNW (SRS Control Unit Calibration Defect) Incident Type: Safety defect – airbags deployed without collision Location & Date: Highway 131, outside of Kalamazoo, MI - travel – normal road conditions on July 6, 2026 Insurance Outcome: Denied due to manufacturer defect, will only cover minor wheel damage While driving my 2019 Honda Odyssey on the highway, the vehicle hit a pot hole in the main lane and multiple airbags deployed without any collision, impact, or hazardous event. The side, and curtain airbags all deployed simultaneously. These airbags also did not deflate making it very difficult to see and could have been extremely dangerous. There was no crash, no debris, and no external damage to the vehicle. The deployment was sudden, violent, and completely unexpected. The circumstances of this incident match the description of Honda Safety Recall UNW, which identifies a defect in the SRS control unit calibration that can cause airbags to deploy from normal road vibration, potholes, or bumps. My vehicle’s behavior aligns exactly with the recall conditions. I filed a claim with my insurance provider (Allstate), and they issued a denial because the airbag deployment was caused by a manufacturer defect, not a collision or comprehensive event. As a result, I am left with over $10,000 in airbag related repair costs, including replacement of the airbag modules, seat airbags, curtain airbags, SRS sensors, and interior trim damaged by the deployment. I contacted Honda to request reimbursement under the recall, but Honda has refused my claim and pushed me back to my insurance provider. The lack of response from Honda leaves me with significant financial damage caused directly by a known recall defect. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in compelling Honda to address this recall related failure, reimburse the repair costs and ensure proper handling of unintended airbag deployments

When turning on my Honda Odyssey, the center console remained blank on ignition. When we went to reverse, the camera was not displayed. Even once the car was in drive, the center console remained blank. It would periodically begin to turn on once we started driving while turning off again with a disconnect notice throughout the drive. I have provided photo evidence of this issue. This is not the first time this has happened, and I have reported this issue with my vehicle previously.

-Front multipurpose camera internal failure. Apparently this is a known cause which creates a "christmas tree" of warning lights: lane keeping assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, auto high beam problem, road departure mitigation system problem and collision mitigation assist problem. There is a class action lawsuit on this. - safety was at risk as I have 3 kids and I was worried that it was going to stall. I spent couple days going to the dealership and autozone trying to solve whether it was the battery, accelerator, or the camera and spent 125 dollars to assess the problem - problem has been reproduced my dealership. Just had it repaired - no other warning lights were present before this problem.

The starting and idle systems are faulty. The van will not start up again after parking. There is no pattern and no cause we have found. Sometimes it happens 3-4 times in a week and other times it happens once in a month. Sometimes after stopping at a stop light or stop sign, the van will not respond to the gas pedal and will simply idle into an intersection which has almost caused several accidents. We have not had it inspected at a dealership because we cannot afford it. There have not been any warning lights or symptoms prior to these failures.

Since purchasing the van, have reported intermittent hesitation to dealerships. Never duplicated at dealership. Eventually, fuel pump replaced under recall. Still had intermittent issues. On June 11,2026, while on the highway, van had slight hesitation and codes started going on dashboard. Got off the highway and the van limped into a nearby Home Depot parking lot. Had it towed to Hill Country Honda where they diagnosed a bad MAP sensor. When told it was ready for pick up, informed that the wiring harness was pinched. The technician stated that he had straightened the wiring and when I inquired about it, told that particular wire had to be cut out and replaced. Informed that I would likely have further issues with van and recommendation was to replace the whole wiring harness. I asked how it was pinched and told that it was probably done at assembly point and not noticed since it was under other components. I called Honda Cares as recommended to see if they could do anything for the van but Honda said the van was not under warranty so no assistance was provided. The van has 74,000 miles and always maintained by dealerships. Honda Cares said outside influence was the reason nothing could be offered. I believe that Honda is responsible for this situation and I have known 3 different 2019 owners who shared hesitation issues as new owners. Rear speakers are playing very low and told it might also be affected by wiring harness but I don’t think I should spend $4500.00+ to fix this problem.

I am reporting a safety concern involving the rear shock absorbers on my 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite. At 60,852 miles, the rear shocks failed and caused a significant vehicle handling problem. While driving on the highway at speeds of 65–70 mph, the vehicle would experience sudden steering jerks when hitting bumps in the road. The steering wheel would twitch unexpectedly, and the vehicle would momentarily move to the left or right, creating a loss of stability and reducing driver confidence and control. This condition was especially concerning at highway speeds because it created the feeling that the vehicle could unexpectedly change direction when encountering road imperfections. I believe this presented a safety risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. The vehicle was inspected and repaired on XXX, at Matthews Honda in [XXX]. The rear shocks were found to be blown and required replacement. The rear shocks were replaced the same day. After the repair, the steering jerking and instability immediately stopped, confirming that the failed rear shocks were the cause of the problem. Matthews Honda has performed the routine maintenance on this vehicle throughout my ownership. The vehicle has been regularly serviced and maintained in accordance with recommended maintenance schedules. The vehicle was serviced at Matthews Honda in March 2026. As part of that visit, I received a multipoint vehicle inspection report. The inspection checklist showed a green check mark for Shock Absorbers/Struts, Suspension, Tie Rod Ends and Boots, and Steering Gear and Dust Seal, indicating that no issues were identified in those areas at that time. Approximately four months later, on XXX, at 60,852 miles, the rear shocks were found to be blown and required replacement due to the handling and steering stability issues described in this report. During my visit for this repair, I was informed by service department personnel that they had been seeing an in INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5
