Some 2012-2018 Focus Electric, 2013-2017 C-Max Energi, and 2013-2018 Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) may exhibit the high voltage (HV) battery failing to charge while connected to the Delphi 120 volt electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) charge cord. To identify a Delphi EVSE the coupler on the EVSE that connects to the vehicle charge port is solid black. For information on the Delphi EVSE indicator status used for diagnostics, reference High Voltage Battery > Charging the High Voltage Battery in the Owners Guide for a 2018 Fusion Energi. Reference the Convenience Cord Light Emitting Diode (LED) Indicators chart. The Workshop Manual (WSM) is scheduled to be revised at a later date.

Some 2013-2017 C-MAX Energi, 2013-2018 Fusion Energi, 2013-2018 C-MAX/Fusion Hybrid/MKZ Hybrid may exhibit a no start with battery energy control module (BECM) diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0AE5. For 2015-2017 C-MAX Energi refer to the 2014 MY C-MAX Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A for normal diagnostics. For all vehicles, if WSM pinpoint testing for BECM DTC P0AE5 finds the DC/DC converter control module (14B227), cabin coolant heater (18K463) or A/C compressor (19703) has low high voltage circuit internal resistance, only replace the component found with low internal resistance. It is not necessary to replace the high voltage battery junction (10C666) along with the low resistance high voltage component. The WSM is currently under revision.

Some 2013-2015 C-MAX vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC U1030 after module reprogramming is performed on the powertrain control module (PCM) and built on or before 21-May-2015. ID vehicle and open a new Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) vehicle session. Select Module Programming > As-built > battery energy control module (BECM). When IDS prompts to obtain module part numbers, select Yes. Once data has downloaded, perform PMI on the BECM and confirm the U1030 clears after on-demand self testing the BECM. For claiming, use causal part 10B687 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the service labor time standards (SLTS).

The wrong part will have an engineering number of GV6T-14A073-GD and it will not work. The correct part will have engineering part number of GV6T-14A073-with a suffix of XA, XB, XC, or XF. Dealers should utilize the normal return process of a miss packaged part. Continue to monitor OASIS. When this concern is resolved, an update will be provided.

Some 2013-2017 Fusion Hybrid Energi built on or before 24-Mar-2017, 2012-2016 Focus Electric and 2013-2016 C-MAX Energi and equipped with a TCU may exhibit inoperative remote features via MyFord Mobile app, discharged battery, incomplete user authorization and/or accessory protocol interface module (APIM) DTC U0198 with no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed. To correct, perform any open TCU field service actions (FSAs). If U0198 DTC remains, remove the TCU fuse for 5 minutes then reinstall prior to programming. Reprogram the TCU using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 104.05 or higher. An internet connection is required. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the SLTS manual.

SOME 2013-2017 FOCUS/C-MAX VEHICLES EXHIBIT A FRAYED/CUT SHORT APPEARANCE AT THE FRONT EDGE OF THE HEADLINER NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE HEADLINER AND NO REPAIRS SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED. ON 5 DOOR FOCUS(HATCHBACK) THE EXPOSED EDGE AT THE REAR LIFT GATE AREA MAY BE DUE THE HEM LIP OUT OF POSITION (BENT) PULLING THE WEATHER STRIP OUT OF POSITION, EXPOSING THE EDGE. THE HEM LIP CAN EASILY BE REPOSITIONED AND WILL KEEP THE HEADLINER EDGE COVERED BY THE WEATHER-STRIP, WITHOUT HEADLINER REPLACEMENT.
