As with many chevrolet trucks the frame and cross members have rust to the point that they are breaking off. This is a major safety concern as the support the fuel tank and suspension mounts. It is also a major concern to the structural integrity of the truck. No it has never been inspected by anyone else, as it don't need to be it is very obvious on all GM trucks.

Vehicle abruptly malfunctioned (lose of power) while sitting at the traffic light during a heavy storm. Fortunately, I turned the vehicle off and restarted it, which gave me enough engine power to get a a safe place. I had the vehicle towed to Love Chevrolet, Columbia, SC. Dealership stated the entire wiring harness needed to be replaced. The replacement cost would be $3500. They also stated the wiring harness for this vehicle has been discontinued and I have to take the vehicle to an electrical shop to be fixed.

Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's and passenger's air bags deployed without warning, causing the front windshield to explode and damage the passenger's side dashboard. There was no impact to the vehicle that could have caused the air bags to deploy. The contact was not injured; however, his fiancée, who was a passenger, had bruises on her knees, legs, and arms, as well as burns and cuts on her legs. No medical attention was received. The contact stated that her son did not remember any warning lights being illuminated. The contact stated while her husband was driving 55 MPH, the contact and her husband both heard an explosion coming from the vehicle and a white smoke was coming from the rear seat in the vehicle. The contact also stated the that the vehicle stalled and the seat belts locked up. Additionally, the hazard lights independently activated and the air bag warning light illuminated. The contact's husband was able to pull over and inspect the vehicle. The contact stated that the cruise control no longer operated as needed, the seat belts remaining locked; however, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the check engine, the stabilitrak, the service trailer brake system, and the seat belt warning lights were illuminated before the vehicle began to decelerate. The contact stated that the vehicle turned off and back on independently. The contact stated he continued to experience the failure and parked on the side of the road for 30 minutes before restarting the vehicle and continued driving to his destination. The contact stated he had experienced the failure on 3 different occasions. The contact took the vehicle to two different independent mechanics and the second location informed him that the chassis electronic control module needed to be replaced. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Communication Number: 14515B however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. Started out by sometimes not going into PARK, but now, Transmission will NOT go into PARK. This is hilly country, and I am concerned that the vehicle could roll away, although the parking brake has worked so far. When I park in my driveway, the rear (parking) brakes groan and slip just a little. So far, nobody has been killed.

Yes the warning light came on before the air bag was replaced, If the waring light comes it indicates that the airbag is faulty, why is it going to cost me $791 to repair the sensor. Is this not a problem that should be resolved, as the airbag wont work if the sensor is not fixed. The air bag was replace At George Nahas on January 8th. At the time we were not told that the airbag would not work because the light was on. It was much later that a friend (mechanic) told me that the bag would not work if the light was on. Thus we contact Feldman and were told that the cost would be $791. Why replace the bag is it not going to work
