This Preliminary information communicates that a customer may bring a vehicle in with a complaint of the Heads Up Display (HUD) frozen or inoperative. The dealer technician may find the HUD inoperative and may find no communication with the HUD and/or DTC U1518. The technician is advised to cycle power to the HUD by removing and reinstalling the HUD power supply fuse which will restore the function of the HUD.The technician is advised that a reoccurrence is unlikely and engineering is evaluating this condition.

This Preliminary Information communicates to thetechnician that some customers may comment on the operation of their haptic seat during a Lane Keep Assist event. Lane Keep Assist works differently than Lane Departure Warning. The Lane Keep Assist icon is solid amber, Forward Camera Module is actively commanding a torque to Electronic Power Steering. This means that the driver should also feel some feedback from the steering wheel. No Chimes or haptic in the seat. Lane Keep Assist icon is flashing amber; Forward Camera Module is actively commanding torque to Electronic Power Steering. This will also be accompanied with Lane Departure Warning chimes and haptic in the seat feedback based on the setting chosen in the vehicle settings. This will take place when the vehicle has crossed lane marking by (40 cm) or (15.75 in).

Original Equipment Batteries Part Number and ACDelco Replacement Battery Approved Warranty Part Numbers Correct battery cold cranking amperage (CCA) ratings and type are critical for proper test results when using the EL-50313. Access to the battery specification label, which contains the OEM part number and CCA rating and type, may be difficult without component removal. Refer to the table below for the original equipment ratings and part numbers used to set up a proper battery test. There has been some confusion as to the correct ACDelco battery warranty replacement. Refer to the table below for the correct battery warranty replacement.
