Founder and Editor-in-Chief. Built Car and Problems to give car owners a single trusted reference for every recall, complaint, investigation, and service bulletin filed against their vehicle.

Ahmet Topcu is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Car and Problems. He started the project to close a gap he kept hitting as a car owner himself: the records that would help an ordinary driver judge a vehicle’s reliability are technically public, but they live in dense filings written for engineers, lawyers, and dealer staff — not for the people who actually buy and drive the cars.

Car and Problems was built to fix that. The site collects every recall, complaint, investigation, and service bulletin filed against a vehicle sold in the United States and runs each one through an editorial pipeline that turns the dry filing into a plain-English explanation an owner can act on.

Ahmet sets the editorial direction across the team, owns the technical architecture behind the site (the data ingestion, the article-generation layer, and the manufacturer-news pipeline are all his work), and personally signs off on first-party investigations the team publishes.
