While the vehicle is safely functioning as designed, some customers might be unaccustomed to the noise of the A/C compressor in an electric vehicle; such noise is usually not noticeable in vehicles powered by an internal combustion engine. Upon customer complaint of excessive cabin noise or vibration while the A/C compressor is running, Rivian will retrofit brackets on the A/C lines, and, if necessary, reroute a harness to reduce noise and vibration in the cabin. Note: This document supersedes RSB-93-24-001-1. Revision 2 changes the order of installation of the low pressure line brackets.

This condition does not affect vehicle performance. Upon customer complaint of this squeaking or chirping noise, Rivian will replace the front hydraulic jounce lines with upgraded components to eliminate the noise.

Under certain driving conditions, at low speeds (under 25 mph), when the vehicle is articulating over bumps and uneven surfaces, a chirp noise can be heard inside the cabin, which might be perceived as a quality issue. Due to a supplier quality issue, the display may show inaccurate pressure readings of approximately +/- 10%. If the compressor is used to fill the tires, slightly inaccurate pressure readings may result in slightly overinflated or slightly underinflated tires but will not affect the performance of the vehicle. Tire pressures will be accurately measured by the TPMS and shown in the driver display. Rivian will replace the auxiliary air compressor control panel with an upgraded component. SummaryRivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T and R1S vehicles that may have been built with drive units that have fastener threads on a plug sealing surface which may result in damage to the plug o-ring and an inadequate sealing surface. This condition could allow drive unit fluid to leak from the drive unit. Fluid leaking from the drive unit may be noticeable to the customer (though any potential leak would be a very small amount that would not impact other road users). If the leaking occurs over an extended period of time, it may lead to a decreased life for the drive unit and eventual failure of the drive unit. A failure of a drive unit will result in a reduced performance safe-state mode and a corresponding indicator light will illuminate on the driver display. Rivian will inspect each drive unit on all affected vehicles and will either install a new drive unit plug with an enlarged washer to ensure proper sealing or replace the drive unit. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. Note: This document supersedes RCA-38-23-003-1. Revision 2 updates the minimum volume of drained fluid required to replace the front drive unit.
