I own a 2025 Kia EV6 Wind RWD. At approximately 14,655 miles, the vehicle experienced a confirmed Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failure that resulted in loss of 12-volt charging and reduced motive power. On August 1, 2026, while reversing the vehicle, I heard a loud pop from underneath the rear seating area. Immediately afterward, the red 12-volt battery warning light illuminated and the vehicle displayed a “Check Electrical Vehicle System” message. Because I was concerned that the vehicle was no longer charging the 12-volt battery, I externally charged the 12-volt battery with a smart charger and then measured the battery voltage with a multimeter. With the vehicle off, the battery measured 12.99 volts. After starting the vehicle and confirming it was in READY mode, the voltage measured only 12.35 volts, indicating that the vehicle was not maintaining the 12-volt electrical system. When I drove the vehicle to Hilltop Kia on August 3, 2026, the vehicle had substantially reduced propulsion and would not exceed approximately 45 mph. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and documented DTC P1A961C, “LDC Internal Power Supply,” and DTC P1A9096, “LDC Input Voltage Sensor.” The dealer’s Kia diagnostic system showed LDC input voltage of only 1.7 volts, compared with a stated typical value of approximately 565.5 volts. The dealer replaced the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), part number 36400-1XF06, and the high-voltage ICCU fuse, part number 375F2-GI040, under warranty. The cooling system was bled, diagnostic trouble codes were cleared, and the vehicle was road tested and returned to me on August 6, 2026. I purchased the vehicle new on November 28, 2025. My vehicle is a 2025 model year EV6 and is outside the earlier 2022-2024 EV6 ICCU recall population. I am filing this complaint because the ICCU failure caused the vehicle to stop charging the 12-volt electrical system and resulted in significantly reduced motive power. The door closed sensor fails intermittently. This causes the car to sound an alarm while driving, prevents locking of the doors, and results in automated sudden braking at low speeds, such as in heavy stop & go traffic, causing a significant crash hazard. When it engages in the emergency braking routine, it shifts out of gear, so you can’t prevent a rear collision by simply accelerating, you must rapidly shift the car into gear, first.

Hi, I had to transport a few lumber pieces that did not fit into the trunk of my Kia EV6, so I had to leave the hatch open (I pulled it down as far as possible and secured it via a rope against the latch). When I started driving the car started beeping frantically, but allowed me to drive. When I crossed an intersection traffic came to a temporary halt, and when I came to a stop my Kia all of a sudden shut off and would not allow me to put it back into gear again. When traffic around me continued I was unable to move and presented a security hazard with cars coming from behind almost running into me because they expected me to move, which I couldn't. I inquired about this at my dealership this morning and was told that there is no way to override the car's behavior and that this behavior was a "safety feature" to ensure the car wouldn't be driven with the hatch open. Now I'm asking since when is it a safety issue to knowingly drive with the hatch open to transport an oversize item - shouldn't that decision be left to the operator of the vehicle? In my opinion it's a much bigger safety issue to all of a sudden disable the entire powertrain of the vehicle when coming to a brief stop. Driving on three lane highway at 60 mph the car abruptly lost power. Was able to get off the highway. Called Kia roadside assistance. Tow truck picked up car and delivered it to Kia dealership. Service dept diagnosed and is replacing the ICCU.

While charging at a L3 station, charging was interrupted with a pop (which turned out to be ablown fuse). Two warning lights appeared on the dashboard (battery and vehicle with exclamation points) as well as message to "Check electrical vehicle system". Kia Connect told me to exit the vehicle and that it would need to be towed to the dealer. Dealer Service Office confirmed it was not safe to be in the vehicle nor to drive it. Car had only 2311 miles at the time! From the dealer invoice the KDS was inoperative at the time. Fault codes: P1A961C LDS Internal Power Supply out of Range and P1A9096 LDC Input Voltage Sensor Component Internal Failure Confirmed 12V battery no charging in ready on. Live data does not match given good values. LDC input voltage ~2V, LDC Output voltage 11.4C Dealer replaced ICCU and ICCU HV Fuse. Filled and bled cooling system. Verified vehicle charges on L2 charger. (Note I had been charging on an L3; this has not been verified.) I was told the ICCU ASSY had a new part number and was coming from a different factory. This part had a cost of nearly $5000 but was covered under warranty. HV fuse also replaced under warranty.
