The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 - 7 MPH, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. The brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond. The brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. There was a squeaking sound coming from the vehicle. While making a left turn the vehicle shut off. The driver sustained a strain to the foot while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was towed to a residence. The contact called AAA Roadside Assistance. The contact stated that brakes service and an oil change were performed prior to the failure. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure was associated with the brake booster. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and it was confirmed that there was no recall associated with the failure. The manufacturer was contacted by phone, but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
Over the last four months, the right shoulder harness strap on our Baby Trend car seat has spontaneously disengaged from the rear metal splitter plate on five separate occasions: three times discovered prior to loading our toddler into the seat, and twice while the vehicle was actively in motion on the road (including once on the interstate). The entire car seat and all original components remain in our possession and are fully available for inspection upon request. When the shoulder harness strap slips off the splitter plate, the harness instantly loses all tension. On the two occasions while driving, the strap completely detached, leaving our toddler unrestrained. During the most recent incident on the interstate, our daughter leaned forward and the unattached harness strap fell completely through the back slot of the seat shell. Had a sudden braking event or collision occurred during these episodes, the harness would have failed entirely to restrain her, exposing her to critical risk of severe injury or ejection. The car seat has not yet been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or official authorities. We personally inspected the splitter plate and harness straps; no visible breakage, bending, or physical damage is present on the metal plate or webbing. The detachment occurs spontaneously during normal use due to a component failure/design flaw. We have reached out to Baby trends, informing them of the issue, and advise them of two found reviews so far where other customers have the same issue of the safety straps, disengaging spontaneously from the splitter plate.

Break Booster Break fell to the floor, slow to stop, spongy. I was able to put on my hazards and roll to safety stop. Huge risk if I was going faster or turning a curve. Dangerous to me and others to not being able to stop The problem hasn’t been taken to the shop yet as it was closed and I had the same problem in 2025 and 2023 which were confirmed and fixed with ford parts. I am suspecting it is the same issue. Even if replaced the car is likely not safe wi the this part failing 3 times in less than 4 years. No warnings or symptoms, just falls to the floor and spongy break reaction

Brake Booster Was exiting the freeway so already slowed but it was a curvy off-ramp, thankfully no one was close and the car was already slowed, but on hazards and coasted home at 5 mph. Huge safety concern Tow truck towed to HTS Automotive to determine the brake booster went out, which we already knew as the same thing happened in 2023! No warnings, no symptoms prior

Brake Booster All of a sudden my brake went to the floor and made a hissing sound, spongy response. Took it to Cowin Ford and they diagnosed and replaced the brake booster. It was really dangerous as response to brake was really slow. I almost hit a car in front of me. No warnings or symptoms prior.
